Can anyone come up with some ideas please, i have been asked to make a square cristening cake for about 30 people. It is for a four year old girl and they want sponge bob and thomas the tank engine on it.
I haven't a clue and i want it to be really nice as i am going to be the little girls godmother. Any advice would be great.

I made my daughter a fruit cake for xmas. She never used it then and decided to cut it today, i told her not to eat the icing as it was made on 20th dec, and i wasn't sure how long icing would keep for, even in an airproof container. When she took the icing off it it was mouldy, i don't know why it was covered in apricot jam before icing. I used a delia smiths recipe which used orange juice instead of alcohol. Does anybody think it was the orange juice or have you any other ideas?

Fruit cake is preserved by the alcohol. Without the alcohol it is prime mold growing fodder.
