ok I have Txted all my life, and I do not type like that. There is a difference between txting, and being just plain LAZY!

Her whole email is a joke and (no offence to people with accents) you can totally picture a hill-billy talking when you read it!!

Glad you turned it down!

And what she will probably get for that price is a cake that looks like CRAP!

? Is it just me or did she want a 2 more tiers on top of the castle?? Maybe I just don't understand hillbillie? And yes, what I am picturing in my head is VERY scary! I was so cautious about the wedding dress I picked out because I didn't want to look at my pictures in 10 years from now thinking "what the hell was I wearing??"- wondering what she will be thinking in 10 years? It's people like this that make me think you should pass some kind of test before you can have kids...but then again I have come across people who can't even figure that one out

icon_eek.gif I'm completely shocked at how poorly written that e-mail was.

I have 2 college aged kids that text constantly and I can assure you all THAT is not how they speak or write.

THIS e-mail is sad, really.....I don't know what else to say about it icon_confused.gif

Oh my goodness! I almost did not believe it was real. Can you really type that badly!? Wow. Sad. As a teacher I want to vomit. I have kindergartners who say "you like mineS" yes MINES, drives me nuts, I repeat over and over again that MINES blow up, its mine. Poor kids, they think I am a looney tune, meanwhile I do not want to be the teacher responsible for OPs miserable email conversation!

Don't blame yourself....it starts at home. If this girl can't construct a simple e-mail then chances are the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Ya know Deb_ thanks for that because everyone is always blaming teachers. Yes, there are teachers who go to work to collect a paycheck and keep their hefty benefits and add to that nice pension but there are others who really want to teach. And yet one day a student will go somewhere and say "you like mineS".

But really, OPs email, I can not believe it. Its so brutal. And Kiwi- you are right, cakewrecks is going to be running slow with all of us looking out for ms. greatgrammars cake!

LOL! I was just thinking as I read this that there ought to be a CC forum entitled "Stupid Customer Requests". It would be the most popular forum! I'd enjoy that even more than I enjoy looking at the disaster gallery.

Sorry, that post says 'Inner City' more than 'Hillbilly' to me. The hillbillies around me have a whole different way of speaking and accent that that.

Cannot believe she wanted all that..... still trying to figure out the whole 2 more tiers above tha castle bit. icon_confused.gif

Puhleeease! I can barely hold my hands steady to type. Here I sit, in a quiet house with the wind howling outside and I am howling with laughter at the picture of the "bride". I don't think things can get any funnier. Will someone take up the challenge and start a whole new forum to run alongside of disasters?

Wow! When I read things like that from people who have no concept of how to communicate using the written language it just makes me feel like they are sitting beside me talking non-stop like some sugar hyped teenager. I'm not the best at sentence structure, but that was horrible!

I would have emailed her back and said "HUH?" I am so glad that I actually went to school at a time when cell phones and computers were virtually nonexistent. My grandmother (an English teacher) would have boxed my ears if I had ever written something such as that.

Sounds like a joke to me. Who wants a wedding cake that looks like a haunted castle? Really? It's supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life and you want a blood (fake) drenched haunted castle to represent that day? No thanks!

My brother (not the sharpest tack in the box) wrote a letter to the judge during his divorce/custody proceedings. Thank GOD he asked a sister to look it over for him. First thing she told him was, "You're righting to a judge, not to one of your buddies. The word "U" is spelled Y-O-U."

The letter ..... that would be given to a JUDGE ...... was written in text-speak. And he couldn't figure out why that was a problem. icon_confused.gif

I love the Bride photo!!! I should email that to her and tell her I thought of you when I saw this and thought it would be a good reference for your make up artist.

Okay, that was a little mean! lol.

This must be the month for me for crazy cake request. I just booked this cake. I asked them why they wanted a cake like this and they had no reason other than it was "cool."

I researched the cake and it was originally made for a stuntman and woman for their wedding. I think it is wierd even for them. Great work, but wierd.

They probably saw it on Cake Wrecks. Jen listed it as a "Sunday Sweet" one time. Personally, I think it's awesome!

As for the witch bride, sounds like she's using her wedding as advertisement for her business. icon_rolleyes.gif Have a goth wedding if you want, by all means, but geesh! you don't use your wedding cake as a buildboard for crying out loud!

Anyone can make the occasional mistake or typo, but people who don't even make an effort to communicate using standard spelling and grammar rules make me think that they don't have any pride in themselves.

This seems to be the same bride that posted this on craigslist:

"Hello, I am having a halloween wedding an I would like to tell u a little about what were lookin for. were having a halloween wedding but its gonna be a scary one not just like for the halloween colors. We was thinkin about havin a castle i have a pic of kinda what im lookin for but does not have to b exact. I am wantin the castle to bleed if possible. Then i am thinkin about maybe some scary stuff around it like maybe a graveyard? An instead of havin the flags at top of cake something else scary. I would love to have a tier cake but i am not sure how you could make one that would look right with a castle? I have come up with a second idea for a cake
In the wedding me being the bride is goin to be dressed as a witch! an the groom is being freddy so we was thinkin of maybe havein a castle or haunted house castle with a graveyard around it, an makein half theme freddy an half theme witch. We would also like the cake to look like its been split in the middle by freddys claws. Also we would like it to be in tiers like a castle on the bottom and then maybe those cone lookin things on the castle holdin up another tier, atleast two more tiers on top if poss. The main top would be a small one with our weddin topper that we can keep for our first anniversary. then the second one dont matter the size but we have our own haunted house an we would like our name to be on that part of the cake which would be like this" Slaughter Yard Wedding"

If you think you are up for the challange please let me no, i have a few ppl that has offered to do our cake but of course im lookin for the best deal so tell me about what ur price range is an how much u think a cake like this will cost an also the other cake decription how much it would cost. I would love to see pics of ur work our wedding is not until sept so u got plenty of time to be creative. any ideas feel free to let me no. " There was a bit more but the site is screwy at the moment.

She also added 2 pictures- one of them from Couture Cakes. If that's the kind of work she expects for her budget, she is in for quite a surprise. She's for real and she's real scary. I read that posting and thought to myself, "Run. Run far away." Upscale cake pictures, poor grammar, and the words "best deal" just screams problem bride to me.

Oh, come on guys. Don't be *Mean*. It's not a stupid request. She has $300 odd dollars for this spectacular cake. And she's a bride. She *deserves* this cake of her dreams. Bride status automatically entitles you to such privileges right?

Yep...them's the way I want it! Sheeesh...the young people today will be in for a rude awakening tomorrow.

I have a problem with people asking about cakes and saying "I want something other than a Walmart cake but we are working on a budget".

Hello??? Doesn't Walmart and budget go hand-in-hand? As soon as I saw "Walmart" I knew exactly what was coming next.
