Tip Number Recommend For The Perfect Swirl.

yeh i have a 1M and I like it. All the swirl cupcakes in my gallery were done with that
Which one is the 1m? I have an off brand that I use so the numbering is different.
1M is made by Wilton. It fits onto the large coupler (if you use couplers). You can get it at any Michael's, JoAnns, or AC Moore. Wilton also has a cupcake decorating set which includes a bismark tip (for injecting fillings), the 1M tip, and several other tips (I don't recall which ones they are because all of my tips are assembled inside a decorators tool box).

Lita829 - thanks - I did know it was by Wilton, just wondering what it looked like and if mine was close to the same or totally different -lol! I have quite a few smaller tips, but only a couple of big ones. I have used the 2D before, but usually use my tip that is larger than that with an "open" star design with a lot of teeth. I don't use a coupler for mine, though, it's easier not to.
1 M, but I did just get the 2D to try the rose bouquet!
I just did the same thing yesterday!! I haven't tried it out yet but I'm going to Thursday. Can't wait!
OP: If you want to get a really awesome swirl, buy the Ateco #829. It's a monster pastry tip and it rocks!

Oh..you're welcome. Sorry..I was a little confused. The 1M tip is a large star-like tip with 6 teeth or points. It makes swirls like this:

I use 1M, 2D and sometimes 1G that is huge. The 1G covers a cupcake with one singel swirl and it looks really great.
The only downside is that it takes more frosting - but it's really quick if you need to do many
Check out this link and go to page 3 and you can see the Wilton 1M, 6B, and the large Ateco, etc. tips I have. I did comparison pictures...

I most often use 1M as well. Sometimes 2D which makes much more of a swirl so it's really just up to you. Both work great!
