Abc Blocks For A Baby Shower Cake Please Help.

Could any body help by telling me how to make the little childrens ABC blocks that i have seen on baby shower cakes. I use a cutter to get the same amount of paste for each one, but i can't get the shape right. do you buy a mould or do them by hand? I haven't seen a mould for them. Any advice would be very much appriciated. I am new to cake decorating and have a lot to learn. it is amazing how much i have learned already on this web site, i have only been cake decorating for three months.
If anyone reading this post that has put pics, templates or information etc
on this site thank you very much you have been a great inspiration to me and i am sure to lots of others also. Thanks
To make the blocks on my cakes I cut equal amounts of modeling paste and then hand shape them into blocks by playing with the paste until I am happy with the shape. It does take a few times to get the exact cube but after about 10 mins you should be an expert, just keep playing.
I used a ruler and measured gumpaste squares and let them dry overnight. I found a pizza cutter worked the best to make them. I used to use a knife but I found it stretched the gumpaste at the end and I did not end up with the shape I wanted. To put the blocks together I used a fondant adhesive and let them dry for a couple hours or overnight. I had no problems with them. I posted a picture of them.
thanks, i will have a go doing it both of these ways as i think they look really nice. thanks for replying
I just moulded with hands as well. For the larger ones I press my smoother against the side one at a time.hth
