This is going to seem like a very dumb question, but I'm trying to start a site an have been reading post on here.

Godaddy seems popular, cheap, and pretty easy but what do I have to buy? Do I need both the hosting and the website tonight? The hosting is showing a year for 56 an the tonight for 54. Can someone help me with?

Thanks Katie

i use 1and1.com and built my own website - basic package - cheap and fairly easy as they have templates. www.citygirlcakes.com

I used GoDaddy. It's $4.99 per month for a 5 page site. That includes one email address. I found it easy and I update it often.

ellie- did you just purchase the site builder? I was thinking that maybe all I would have to purchase is the subscription for site builder. Hope this is correct?

Funny, I just did this last week. I have someone building my site and she steered me to ipage.com. Right now they are running a special of $3.50/month and you can buy either 12 or 24 months. This includes the hosting, one email address, free templates to build the site and some other stuff that I don't really know about. The security feature is an extra $9 year but highly recommened. I purchased my domain name on Saturday and it took just a few minutes and for two years was slightly over $100.
