I'm packing up my holiday teacher sweaters as we read this post.....as a 30 year teacher who is looking forward to retirement in 5 years so I can cake more, I wish you the best. I have loved my teaching years, but changes make it not what it was.

I still wish for you to become Dr. Debi, I think the college level would be a good place to be. When you do your thesis keep Canton OHio in mind, they have the only first ladies museum and library, it is a well kept secret unfortunately. best of luck.

Wow, I was shocked to see this! I have always admired your willingness to help others, your directness, and your ability to step outside the box. I think you will be a great teacher and the thought of those middle-schoolers not knowing what hit them when they get you as a teacher cracks me up. When they try to snow you and you lay it on the line, they are going to fall over in shock icon_biggrin.gif .

You have taught me that having a backbone is a good thing and that I don't have to be afraid of being direct. I know I am a stronger and more to the point person because of you and the other ladies here. May all your ventures in life be as grand as the experiences you have already had.

Debi, you are such a wonderful person and role model as a bussiness woman and person. How wonderful that you have the opportunity to live all your dreams, even if they last for 2 years, at least you tried.
It seems to me you live your life "doing" not just "thinking" and that's very inspirational for me.

Thanks so much for all the advice you've shared with us about cakes, about bussiness, about being strong women.

I know everything you do turns out great and I wish you a lot of luck with this new stage in your life.

I've been really busy kicking off my business venture, spending little to no time on fun stuff--imagine my *surprise* when I saw this thread and you, my dear Debi was the author!

Let me first say, Congratulations on making this transaction as only you would--with your head and spatula held high!

I'm so very excited for your new venture. Hey, what is life if not change! Catering is a hot, sweaty, heavy, hard business--if it was easy everyone would do it! Since the time has come for you to snuff out that last sterno flame and turn and light the next flame life has handed you--do it with the flare I have come to expect from you!

Lovin' you and what you are, sister!

PS....enjoy the heck out of those grandbabies--I was blessed with my first in July and she is the light of my life!

thumbs_up.gif As excepted, Debi's got it together with a complete plan! I had my own drama and haven't "been around" but can only repeat thanks for many pearls of wisdom, "cake balls" advise that is right on, and many a good chuckle.

We all know you earn and deserve the best!
Rita

PS. Anyone counted how many people here responded to Debi... like a pp said... longest thread ever. We all love you Debi!

Add me to the 'shock' list....but I do understand. I had to quit a job this past Fall because of the same thing....my neck and upper back. YOU have taught me so much! You are truly a 'cake master' in my book.....and a very fine person. I wish you all the great success in your new endeavors.......onward! icon_smile.gifthumbs_up.gif
