My customer wanted a filling to taste more like cheesecake instead of creamcheese

I just bought instant cheesecake filling by Philladelphia and mixed the tub in with a batch of buttercream and mmmmmm

perfect for the red velvet cake!!

We used to bake a real cheesecake and do a layer of cheesecake in between the cakes. But that sounds awesome.!

To the OP: what kind of buttercream did you mix it with?

I'm not a big fan of sour cream in cake so I tried using the cheese cake filling in a cake in place of the sour cream filling - YUMMMMM! No more sour cream for me. I haven't tried mixing it in buttercream but I will now.

Sounds great! Is the mixture chunky or smooth; you said filling, can you ice the cake with it too?

This sounds great, and easy. Can't wait to try it. Does it spread more like buttercream, or like cream cheese frosting?

What is this? Refrigerated tub? Powdered instant pudding type?

Also, mix with what buttercream and in what proportions?

TIA

Just to clear up my previous post, it's the ready-to-use cheesecake filling that you find in a tub in the refrigerated section with the cream cheese. I don't use it for icing, only for filling and added to the cake batter in place of sour cream. I suppose you could add some to buttercream for your icing but I haven't tried that yet. There is a plain flavor and a key lime flavor but you could add any flavoring you wanted to the plain. Try it. It's yummy and everyone LOVES it. HTH
