Really liked the look of a cake I saw here on cake central and want to modify it for my daughter's 2nd birthday in a few weeks combining some ideas from other cakes I saw here. I am really comfortable with cookies and wanted to know if I could recreate the effects seen in this cake by sticking cookie lollipops in for the airplanes and helicopter similar to this cake. I can't imagine the cake supporting the weight of the cookie and it holding in place. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. The link for the cake I am using for my inspiration is included below

Sure, it'll work fine!! I did it on this anniversary cake. My only advice would be that, if you need to transport it, put the cookies in after you get to the venue. I made the mistake of putting them in at home, then I was a nervous wreck the whole way to the party -- the cookie sticks were vibrating like crazy!

It'll be fine! I've done it on several cakes. I try to cut the sticks of the cookies so that they go pretty far in (if not all the way) for added support.

I love using cookies on cakes, I attach the sticks or bubble tea straws (for big cookies) with chocolate melts and put them in when you are at the destination. I have also just stuck them to the side with extra buttercream.

I also make sure the straws or sticks are long enough to go all the way down through the layers.

Good luck, I can't wait to see your cake! icon_smile.gif
