I remember reading a thread about choc NFSC before, I searched for it and couldn't find it.

Some people replaced 1/4c.-1/2c. cocoa powder for flour (depending on how strong of a chocolatey flavor you want) HTH!

I fortunately was able to successfully do that search a few weeks ago and the consensus seems to be these two are the best. One of them supposedly is from the same person as the NFSC. I tried the first one and they tasted great. Seemed a bit harder to roll out.

I have made the second recipe many times. I do not chill the dough before rolling and cutting. They are yummy and hold their shape very well.

I always use the one from kitchengifts.com and I love it! It's super easy to work with and holds its shape well, just like the NFSC recipe.

thanks bonniebakes i'll take a look at that recipe

Another question: Melted white chocolate with dark chocolate details instead of RI would taste good with the chocolate cookie ones wouldn't they? Prob a silly question but i'll ask anyway lol

Thanks for your kind words, yes, they are edible images. I scanned the lids, then took them into my robomaster software. That is the software for the Silhouette scrapbooking machine, similar to the Cricut. I drew a cutting circle around them, printed with my edible image printer, then cut them with the Silhouette. It was the first time I used it to cut eis, worked like a charm. Now am not limited to the size and shape I can make.

Sorry to hijack the thread, I really do love punkinwaffles chocolate cookies

Oh, yum!! I have the mint staring at me on the counter. icon_lol.gif I was going to put it in the RI and pair it with a Vanilla Sugar Cookie for a design I have in mind, but it sounds delish paired with chocolate! I will give your pairing a whirl! thumbs_up.gif Thanks for the idea. I am so wiped out with this one cookie project that I hadn't even thought of that. Glad one of us is awake! icon_lol.gif

Hey! Sorry about the tag cookies

Don't be silly! icon_lol.gif You were just faster than me in getting yours from paper to dough! I was so excited to do something different and cracked up when I saw you had found the same cutter and already had yours done. LOVE your designs! So very, very cute! thumbs_up.gif Oh, and mine will not by any stretch of the imagination be any cuter than what you did. icon_smile.gif Once I get my helicopter cookies done, I can get into Christmas mode! icon_biggrin.gif I have so many sketches and we will see how many make it off of paper this year. icon_lol.gif

Some of my cookies are good size - up to 8". I watch them carefully, moving them around the pan once they are set enough if they are baking too much in one area. I have heard people talk about reducing your heat 25 degrees, but have not yet tried that. You might want to post this as its own question in the forum for more answers.

I didn't even know there was a cutter for the cookie tags like mine lol I just found a picture on the internet and enlarged it and make a cardboard template like i usually do....it's always difficult for me to get cutters for what i need icon_sad.gif

Yeh i'm not 100% sure if i want to make the big NFSC decorated cookie yet so if i decided i definitely will post it as a separate question, just a novelty idea for one for my friend's icon_smile.gif

I think i have got all of my christmas cookies designs sorted for this year, got a couple of early designs jotted down, just finalizing them in my head, should jot them down soon......there are just so many options!!!! Trying to have a mix of complicated and simple lol

Elise87 - Oh, I agree! So many designs sketched out and we will see how many actually make it from paper to dough. icon_lol.gif At least I will have designs ready for next year. thumbs_up.gif

Yep, there is a cutter. I was planning to make a cutter and then found one. A bit bigger than what I planned, but it will work. When making templates, have you thought about making them from plastic? They hold up better, wash and store really well. I use the medium weight template material found in the quilting section of Joann's Fabrics.

Also, I see a message from you in my inbox, but although I have tried to open it about 20 times, it will not open. CC seems to be having 'issues'. Can you resend it? Thanks!

Honestly, I don't remember. icon_redface.gif I just kept an eye on it until it was set and had the proper color. I would really recommend using parchment paper to help prevent spreading. Sorry I don't recall the time, but it didn't seem exhorbenant.
