I was wondering where everyone gets their wedding cake stands. Are they all expensive? Has anyone found a good place online to order them? Or do you rent them? Still learning! TIA--Cristina

I found this site while searching for a place to purcahse plateaus for my nieces' wedding coming up in December. I'm actually going to place an order with them tomorrow.

Good luck!

Here's the site: www.weddingfads.com/

I purchased most of mine locally at different vendor locations ... there are some really nice ones online if no local stores in your area have them... sometimes the shipping costs are just too expensive... as far as plateaus, I plan to order a couple of those in the near future... I priced them with Cakes by Sam and they look really nice, the prices are not too bad.. I haven't checked on the shipping cost yet .. I'll do some comparitive shopping with others to see what the cost will be as far as shipping since that seems to be the pricey area icon_smile.gif

Thanks! I thought about the shipping, that is usually what keeps me from ordering online and trying to find it locally. Surely there are some places in Atlanta that sell these.

I had a very unigue thing happen to me. The plateau the Simone's Roses is on was part of my payment for the cake itself. The daughter had seen this particular plateau at a bridal show and had to have it. The mother found one and when she contacted me about doing the cake she asked if I would be interested in owning a very nice silver cake plateau and the rest is history. I think she only paid around $100 for it because that is the amount we swapped.

I bought a 22 inch silver cake plateau form Onefineday.com and couldn't believe the prices compared to other places. When it arrived, it had a big dent in it. I emailed them and another one was on the way. I got excellent service from onefineday.com and will order more from them as I need plateaus. HTH thumbs_up.gif

I usually get mine from my local cake shop, which is where I took classes, but TinaRe on here found a cool website that has disposable cake stands, styrofoam and cardboard. I helped her set one up and we used fabric and ivy to cover it, and it looked wonderful. I didnt know that these existed, but it's something to consider throwing in to the price of the cake, and you wont have to stay to retrieve your items =o) I am going to look at doing one for my next wedding cake. icon_lol.gif

Thanks all!
Ree, I have tried to pull up onefineday.com but it's not coming up. I also did a google search and nothing. Are you sure that's the web address?
gma, that is a great trade!
I will definitely check ebay, as well.

Ree, I just bought 2 "floor models" that they say are only tarnished with no scratches... to me, I stole them LOL .. I mean an 22" silver plateau for $79.00 was a steal!! I have never see one that cheap before .. these are money back if not satisfied too ... what a deal!! I bought the square floor model also .. it was a bit more but still much cheaper than any others I could get... hopefully, I'll get to rent these out now to get my money back that I've invested lol

thanks for the info!!

I have purchased from ONeFineDay also, and had to send the first one back due to it having one leg bent. But, they did immediately send a replacement and had good service. I own 2 of these now and charge $35 rental fee plus deposit. They have almost paid for themselves in 4 months!

Oops! wrote the wrong site name down. Sorry 'bout that y'all! I knew that it was 1fineday, but when I emailed them, the email address was onefineday.cc. Just a little brian tumble on my part. I'm glad that y'all got to see the site and sounds like you got a better bargain that me! I'm gonna have to go back and see if I can out-do the great prices y'all got! (If only I had a need to purchase something else!) Oh well... glad y'all got to find a bargain today! Now for another topic... Does anyone know where to find the large metal initials for making the swavorski crystal cake toppers? I'd love to make one for my sons wedding.
