I am making a tea party cake for a 6 year old's birthday, and I need to make a tiny teapot and cups from gum paste. I've used gum paste before to make other things, but I'd love any hints if anyone else has attempted this!

I've made tiny cups before by rolling a ball of gumpaste and then hollowing it out with a rounded stick. You could make handles with an extruder if you have one, otherwise just roll very small sausages of gumpaste.

If you have time to order one, you could get a chocolate mold and either make a chocolate tea set or use it to mold the gumpaste. Here's one but it looks big http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EHNGE6/?tag=cakecentral-20 I have a smaller one but the one I have is 2D.

This is a 4 part video series for polymer clay...but principles for gumpaste would be the same.

There are pretty easy instructions in the wilton 2010 yearbook, for the cups. I recently made a tea party cake, and their instructions were easy to follow. You just use the the ball tool and cut a small circle of fondant or whatever you are using. PM if you want these instructions.
