I just got a message from the Knot that said I was voted one of the best wedding cake bakers in Virginia for their upcoming Best-Of issues. First of all, What the he##? How did that happen?

Anyway, I figured that there had to be other people on here who were also voted in for their states, so I'm calling a roll call!

Thanks, but I still have a feeling it's something to try to trick me into buying an ad!

LOL!!! And you know there add space is pretty much worthless! I've never heard of their best off either. I would think they would be scared to alienate their paying cakers. But, just the same, you would have definetly earned that title! icon_biggrin.gif

you dont have to buy an ad. It's just that a lot of your clients are on the knot, and they voted you as a favorite.

They'll prob offer you sort of incentive to purchase an ad, but you'll still get printed anyway even if you don't get one.

Well, if is not a trick then congrats!! and if its a trick, then shame on the Knot, for being misleading.

I always buy the "Beat of Knot" issue because it is a region-by-region "roll call" of favorite vendors --nominated by the brides themselves. I find it to be a great resource. I doubt very seriously you have been contacted for anything other than what they stated. You should be honored!

I was just joking about it being a trick, I know the brides voted for me...I am very excited about it, believe me! Thanks!

I won Best of Wedding Cakes from the Knot for 2008 and 2009. You don't have to buy advertising, there's no tricks. Honestly though I have not booked a cake from each winning. Pretty sadicon_sad.gif

I have a friend who owns a cake shop in Mesa, AZ who was also chosen for the Best Of issue. She had no idea how she was chosen but it sounds awesome.

Congratulations Costume!

I guess you can get some sort of logo to put on your website too, which would be cool.
