Do I am doing a car cake and got the Mike McCarey DVD. I am trying most of his techniques. The one that I am really excited about trying is the application/smoothing of the BC with my hands. He says he uses an all butter buttercream. In the DVD he warms it up so it partially liquifies for easy application with your hands.

Does anyone know what recipes he uses?

I use a butter and crisco mix BC - I am thinking that's not going to work.

I am also thinking a SMBC or IMBC isn't going to work either. But, I have to be honest and say I am not sure how to do an all butter BC - just swap out my crisco for more butter?

I am going to check out the recipe section now, but thought I'd post here first.

TIA
Cindy

aundron - I just had to thank you again. I did not know that stuff was there. He even has the buttermilk cake recipe, which I am going to give a try next (didn't think he'd part with that). I have to run to the supermarket now icon_smile.gif

I've put his DVD into my computer and still can't find where the recipes are....
Could someone please tell me where I would find them on the DVD?

I have the DVD and the recipes were not included in what I got. I was very disappointed. I even e-mailed him and never got any response from him.

I've lent the DVD out to a friend so I cannot check for sure. But I would think you could put the disk in drive, then go to WINDOWS EXPLORER and look on the disk/drive (for example Drive D). You'd see the executable file (which you do not want), but you should also see the Adobe PDF files as well (which is what you DO want). If you do not have the Adobe Reader on your hard drive, you will need that first in order to view them

Hope that helps.

I had to change how I viewed the DVD under control panel and view files under the DVD option or something like that. I was able to find the recipes there.

right, you have to right click on the dvd in the "my computer window" and do explore.. you should be able to view the files that are on the disk..
