I have a Kopyrite 1000. It works perfectly. I bought a bunch of cake stuff from an individual but I do not use this. Is anyone interested? PM me if so....
I LOVE this thread! It answers so many of the questions I have! This really helps when purchasing a big ticket item like this. Thank you!
Not sure if you were asking me...but I ordered last Thursday and it was out of stock. I called today and it was in and should have shipped today.
i ordered mine on Friday at madisonartshop.com and it hasn't even shipped yet, yes i know im being impatient but just excited. does anyone have any thoughts on the kopykake frosting paper and ink and their airbrush system, i want to them as well
So, I read all the topic...
But I still wondering if it is REALLY worth it to buy the 1000? over the 300
i think so. you dont have to deal with shadows, and also dont have to work in the dark.

I have the 300 and have no complaints AT ALL!!! You definitely dont have to work in the dark (in fact, I frequently work right next to the bay windows in my kitchen). Shadows can be a pain, but definitely nothing that would keep me from ordering it again. I use mine several times a week and I'd buy the same model again without hesitation.
wow maybe i should get the 300 then. i order the k1000 last friday from madison and they havent even shipped it nor respond to my phone calls im a little sad
I got the 300 and love it. I haven't had the shadows either. Not sure why. I must hold my hands differently. My dh made me a temp cardboard surround to keep out the light.
Got mine today . Have it all put together and put a picture in it to see how it works. AWESOME. Can't wait to use it. Man is it big...lol
That's the one drawback, they are big and annoying to move around.
I just bought a boatload of scrapbook paper from Michaels cuz they were having a sale. I can't wait to try them with the projector.
LOL I was just going through my mail and I found myself looking through the junk mail for stuff to use.
I appreciate all this info because I would LOVE to get a projector some day and all this info is so helpful. Just a question to anyone who has the 300 model. I know it's been mentioned a few times that that model is more prone to having annoying shadows.....I am left handed and wonder if there is anyone who is a lefty who can comment on whether the shadows are a big problem for them (on the 300 model), or if it is an issue no matter which hand you write with.
Thanks in advance!!
As a lefty, i can tel you that it doesn't matter. The light source comes from above so whichever way you work, you'll still get the shadowing.
Man I cannot WAIT to get mine!! I'm ordering within the next three weeks (Lord willing!)
Well I did it!! I ordered the K1000 today. It will ship out April 9!! (oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!)
... I sent you a pm!
I really like this message board... lots of great ideas! thanks, all!

The k1000 is pretty hefty in size. From top to bottom, it measures about 3 feet. The light box is approximately 12" wide, 6" tall, and 6" deep. I store mine in the basement, so I have to lug it up the stairs every time I want to use it. But it's worth it! I wouldn't know what to do without one.
Sweetopia (www.sweetopia.net) is putting together a tutorial on how to use it if anyone is interested. She has a quick version up right now.
