That sounds like a great idea. In most high schools you would have to find a faculty sponsor to start a club. You should also figure out what kind of format your meetings would have...would everyone bring a cake and decorate it there, or one person demonstrate something to the others? How often would you meet and other details like that. I know one thing though, if you needed to do fundraisers for your club they would be easy, bake sales or personalized valentines cookies, that kind of thing.

Check with your faculty and see if anyone is into baking...Perhaps they could be your advisor.

I don't have any advice but I wanted to wish you luck! This sounds like a great idea! I would totally be an advisor for it if I was a high school teacher (I teach K).

Hello,

I am currently the advisor for the cake club at my local middle school and high school.

I bake the cakes once a week, take them in, and then we use Sam's club icing.

Each club meets for 2 hours a week. I currently have anywhere between 13 and 16 kids each week. It's a lot of fun.

There is a central lady at our schools that is in charge of all the clubs and after school activities. I think our school system even received a grant for after school activities.

Find the person at your school who is in charge of after school activities, and then you will probably need to find an advisor (someone familiar with cake)... they found me when I taught one of the middle schoolers at Michael's.

If I can help with anything else, let me know!
