This post got me thinking:

Says her teacher never comments on her work, never helps her, (there are 15 ppl in class), and never shows her the same attention in any way, shape or form that she does the other students.
The other day, to save time, she was putting the striping in the clear disposable bags to do the clown bodies with.
I do remember somewhere in Wilton where they said it probably wouldn't work and you should use the parchment or the other bags, but my daughter said it worked for her and she was happy with what she had done and the results. Her teacher though, didn't single her out by name, but announced to the WHOLE class out loud, that using those types of bags just wasn't right and would not work (while my daughter was doing it).
Now my daughter refuses to continue with the classes. I'm so aggravated and bummed cause she can paint on fondant like nobodys business. It's like a watercolor painting. I told her to say something to explain how she feels to her teacher but she refuses and just doesn't want to go back to class. I slightly po'd now...What do u guys
think?

I was going to take that post off topic-ish for a minute.~~then I decided to make a new post.

I had a similar thing happen plus a ton more when I went out for the ICES certifrickation last July~~Let me hasten to say this is not about sour grapes 'cause I didn't get certified.

It's about how unfairly it was conducted. How so many thousands of us are members and not only me but others were screwed. Guess what? This kind of business practice makes a shadow over those who did get the certification.

I got corrected 'over the loudspeaker' so to speak when I was the only one they needed to address--way before the start time.

Then they did not allow me to start on time while they diddled with reading the rules. Why din someone read the rules 45 minutes earlier when it first came to their attention way before the event began.

As I've said before, they set you up to learn your results several days after the event--but after the nine hours of competition if you'll keep it a secret they'll tell you in advance if you sign 'the waiver'-- then they never tell you at all. They go out of their way to screw you.

Honestly, what the hell is that about? Two years in a row they pulled this sh*t. Two. Both years.

How much is the Wilton class? fifty bucks or something?

My fee was $150, lodging a thousand, gas, equipment, ingredients, six months of practicing, two weeks of vacation for me & my husband, see where I'm going with this?

And op I think your daughter's issue is more than legitimate no question about it--very awkward.

So mine is too yes? And for the other folks who got skewered yes?

Yes!

Let me also say, I could not be happier now that I am not certified by those people~they did me an enormous favor--but brothers and sisters, they owe me b.i.g t.i.m.e.

I paid my money and they changed the rules several months later. Originally you got extra points for work done exceptionally well. I had already been practicing my deal by then and had to change it up.

How can I stir the pot on this?

I realized recently that there are certain sponsors of this event--anybody got any names of who sponsored this event/fiasco?

I asked for my money back--they did not even address the issues I presented--they quoted their return policy--are we gonna take this? They want me to go away.

Someone offered to pay my $150 to another one. Thanks but no thanks. I want my money back From ICES! This was not just not fair it was fricking not fair. And not just me got fricked. Hell-o.

What would you do.

If you are not happy cancel your membership. It is not worth it to be upset over this.

If you want your money take them to small claims court to get your $150.

If you are upset over this issue for 2 years just don't compete.

I looked at your website. You are so talented. You don't need to be certified. Your cakes are gorgeous.

If I were a judge I would give you a medal.
