I am new to this forum and new to fondant so bare with me. I am making a cake for my daughter birthday with wilton's fondant.....(i know its crap but I did not know this when I bought it) anyway...what is the best way to store the cake once it is made?

you can put it in the fridge or leave out... how long do you need to store it for?

just until tomorrow. will it get too soft?

It will be fine to sit out until tomorrow. Unless your filling and/or frosting requires refrigeration.

Will the fondant get soft? No, the fondant will get hard on the outside.

But if you've got any decorations that are made from fondant, and they have any type of height (like a ribbon), don't put it inside an air tight container. The lack of air circulation will soften the fondant, and the decoration/ribbon will sag. Learned that one the hard way.
