OK, I just got my airbrush kit.
Need to bling up fondant and BC tiers with twinkle (disco) dust. Do I mix the dust with vodka before adding it to the color cup, or just the dust alone? Does with matter if it's going onto fondant or BC?

Thanks!!

you CANNOT put disco dust in the airbrush, it will clog it instantly. If you want it to be all over your cake, you can sprinkle some on a piece of paper and gently "blow" it onto the cake.

if its similar to lustre dust, a blusher brush is a good way to apply it dry. works on fondant, or well crusted bc.
you can buy the roper shimmer products for the airbrushes, though any name or brand escapes me just now!

Americolor sells a lot of different "shimmer" colors, but they are nothing like disco dust (which is on my pink and red shoes in my pics) The airbrush color does have a nice shimmer to it, but it looks nothing like the disco dust does on items.

OK - to clarify - in this pic - the tiara is painted with the pink shimmer airbrush color - and the shoes are sprinkled with pink disco dust! This shows the two of them and their different looks prety well.

The little pink pearls are disco dusted too, and the white ones have the white pearl shimmer airbrush color on them.

i think it is just meant to be painted on, since it doesnt mention being used in an airbrush. you might need to call them to check.
