I've heard only bad stories about shipping a cake. Someone sent one thru FedEx not too long ago and it was nothing but a pile of crumbled cake and icing. And even though the person insured the cake, FedEx wouldn't reimburse them because they said that it was too delicate and they can't ensure the safety of food.
