Hello!
I have tried searching on this site for a delicious oreo cream/cookies and cream filling. I have heard about this type of filling, and now I find it is time to try it.....
It would be used for the filling in between cake layers...

I wouldn't think it to be a hard recipe. My guess is, is to just add a cup of crushed oreo cookies to a buttercream recipe. (Would this also include the shortening/frosting from the cookie too?)

Any suggestions or the tried and loved recipe would be very appreciated!

I make cookies and cream icing for filling all the time - I just make my regular vanilla buttercream, but add lots of vanilla, and then fold in oreos that I have put through a food processor so there are no big chunks. I include the cream from the oreos (I figure it helps keep the icing creamy after adding all the dryness from the cookies). Once it's all mixed in, it's good to go. Sometimes I'll throw it all back in the mixer and whip it some more but that's if I have spare time.

(by the way, adding some mint extract to this for mint cookies and cream is awesome!)

the one i juse is from the whimsical bake house.. it is whipped heavy cream with powder sugar added. whip until it forms a peak. the add crushed oreo cookies .filling and all. it is scrumtious. i let it set up over nite before i use it so the flavors will meld together. don,t crush the oreos too fine. sorta chucky. hth

there is a recipe in the recipes section. I have made the recipe a couple of times, and could absolutely live off of this recipe. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Try searching "Cookies and Cream" under fillings I think and it should come up. The recipe was submitted by "Laurinda". The only suggestion I make for this recipe, is that it calls for 20 oreo cookies, first of all I use Double Stuff oreos and then I use about 25-30. I guess I like A LOT of cookie pieces. If you still can't find it, PM me and I will email it to you. Good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

my favorite is using a carton of pasty pride, whip it up, add cheesecake instant pudding, and crushed oreos
