M.O.B. refused my cake! - Page 10

so the cake wasn't perfect. You are a professional cake decorator and only make perfect cakes and nothing ever goes awry???? I think not. We all have made cakes that don't do great and have their problems and we deal with it. You offered to make it right and do right by your work. What more could you have done? Give them a full refund is above and beyond what that worthless MOB deserves. That cake is so much better than the cake I had for my wedding and it is not even the right color. I would have gladly accepted that cake and enjoyed my day!

In any case, you've handled this thread with complete class. I have no doubt you managed to handle the bride and her family with equal class.

You really think so??

hmmm... appliances in:

turquoise?

harvest gold?

pink and black tile bathrooms?

Afros on those not African American?

platform shoes?

----

challenge, if you dare: take a tour of your HS yearbook.

icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif You are hilarious

I won't challenge you although I have seen the pink and black bathroom tiles (mother in law has hideous taste) tapedshut.gif However, I'm not that old to begin with (in my late 20's) so in my yearbook you won't see afros or platform shoes lmao!!!

very evil laugh....

just give it another 10 years or so.

Doug: the "EEK -- what were we thinking?!?!?!" factor grows every decade!

Are you by any chance referring to the BROWN tuxes that my husband and the ushers wore at our 1977 wedding?

My mom and dad got married a few years before that and they had the brown tuxes too! I used to make so much fun of them when I looked at her pictures....she always told me her sister picked them out! Of course I thought the bridesmaids' dresses were pretty....
Why do people say, "You can't have your cake and eat it too?" WHY would someone get cake if they can't eat it?!

All i can say is: HAS ANYONE SEEN THE WEBSITE CAKEWRECKS??? Some of those wedding cakes horrible...This one on the other hand is just fine!!

I think the bride wanted a wedding cake made of ribbon...that ribbon is huge... There is more ribbon showing than cake...whats the point decorating a cake and then covering it with ribbon? a nice border made of ribbon is fine! But really...you are not a seamstress decorating a cake...
She should have had someone knit her a cake and then placed the ribbon on it...

LOL!! She probably would have liked one of those "diaper cake" things people make for baby showers......maybe since they're adults it could be made out of "Depends" icon_lol.gif of "edible undies" icon_lol.gif OK.......I'll stop now.... icon_wink.gif

DKelly, you figured out what she was wanting! I have seen those things. That is what the cake looks like! They should have had it for the bachelorette party and not the wedding, unless they are older and need the Depends! Did she say if the couple was in the retirement villas?

ba sed on my knowledge of making bows and working with ribbon almost everyday for 16 years, whenever the customer makes a bad ribbon choice and it doesn't turn out as fab-u-lous as tehy were so sure it would, they always try to blame you for it. AS for all the people pointing out how the cake wasn't fine, i'm so happy for you that all of your cake come out as perfection.

A friend showed me a picture from his parents' late-70's wedding, and all the poor groomsmen were in PINK from head to toe -- even their shoes!

Our kids are too embarrassed to laugh at those pictures. They think we were so un-cool, but we were really stylin'. The groom wore a brown tux, and I wore a "Qiana" (polite word for polyester) wedding gown.

Had to check in and look at my year book. Big hair ring a bell? So many Madonna look a likes, the 80's questioned everything in terms of taste.
