Yes we do make some money off the sales of the books. We are just like a regular bookstore now. We order from the distributor and then sell them on the site.

Basically what we wanted to do was to be able to provide books to the cakecentral community for a better price than other sites are offering and at the same time bring in some revenue to keep this site free. So we found a price point where both goals could be achieved.

As Jackie mentioned, there are times when Amazon will beat us on a price, but it will never be by alot, and we have better prices than any other cake industry site that I looked at.

We also addressed the #1 issue you all had with buying online - SHIPPING. We made it as reasonable as possible. We do not make a single penny on the shipping fee.

Again our goal is to provide better options for everyone here at cakecentral and to provide the resources to continue to grow this community.
