I have been asked to provide a quote for a huge order of cupcakes. ( 20 dozen)
I normally charge $1.00/mini cuppies and they want to know if it will be anything less.
What do you guys think? Unfortunately the work is still the same!
Please help - need to know by today.
I was asked the same thing recently. I don't discount for "large" orders. My ingredients don't get any cheaper, it doesn't cost me any less or take less time.
Truthfully, that is not that many cupcakes anyway. The person who called me wanted 150 cupcakes. In the grand scheme of things it's really not a bulk order. I have done that in one day. It seems like a lot to the client though.
HTH!
20 Dozen cupcakes...240...sounds like bulk to me, lol! I wouldn't charge less, because it is going to take the same amount of time for each additional cupcake as it did for the first one. You cost of goods is still the same. If it were me, I would rather lose the order than come out with no profit and less time for something that might be more profitable (even if it is family time). Just my thoughts!
Lenette,
did you find any bulk packaging for the cupcakes? The most I can find is for 2 dozen. Thanks, Elaine
