I am making a cupcake stand to hold about 125 cupcakes plus a 6" cake on top. What are the dimensions I would need (square stand) and how many tiers would I need? Any tips are helpful!

Thank you for the information. What about if I only wanted to have 1 row of cupcakes on each layer instead of 2? could I make it smaller and if so, how do I figure out the dimensions?

It might just be trial and error for you. You could take a bunch of square pans, turn the upside down and stack them on top of one another. Then make some cupcakes and see how many fit on there and how much more room you need. That's the only thing I can think of.

My bride recently changed her mind from a square stand to a round stand. Has anyone made a round cupcake tree for 125-130 cupcakes? If so, what sizes are needed?
Thanks

Sorry, I know I don't have info on making your own round cupcake stands. icon_sad.gif

I don't know anything about making a round cupcake stand either. But there are some gorgeous ones here. Take a look!

Thanks for all your comments. I enrolled my husband to help make the stand - pvc pipe and melamine did the trick. The cupcakes came out great (I posted to this site) and there were even extra!!
Thanks again!

Your stand, and your cake and cupcakes, turned out very pretty! How lucky of you to have a capable AND willing husband.

For future reference, Louise has a great round cupcake stand tutorial on her CakeJournal Blog. Have a look icon_smile.gif
