Has anyone here tried out the Ateco Silicone fondant mat? It looks too good to be true! I am considering getting it but wanted to see what you all thought of it.

Thanks!

I have the largest Ateco mat (it's blue and beige) and I absolutely love it for fondant.

I have two of them...the all blue one and the beige one with ruler lines in blue...

I love the all blue one....the beige one I don't love...i find that fondant sticks to it and I've tried to cut on it (with a pizza wheel) and cut right through it...

Just bought the blue one two weeks ago, used last night, I cut fondant on it and covered a cake. Love it!

I wouldn't use a really sharp knife on the blue one (cause I did cut through that one too when I used an exacto knife on it), but I do cut ribbons and things with a pizza wheel with no problem...

I have the beige one and it STINKS! There are three or four big holes where the lining is peeling off. It's gross.

Mine is blue with white circles... and I love it! I just use a little shortening and roll the fondant right on out. No silicon rolling mat should be cut on. Silpats, yes. For cutting fondant shapes etc., I use those great plastic cutting boards that are not boards at all, but really are more like place mats. They make a wonderful work surface.

I don't cut on mine. The lining is peeling and I have no idea what started it. I've contacted Ateco but I havent gotten a response

Hate the beige one. I use a silpat for all my hand work and absolutely love it. Nothing sticks to it.

I only use it to roll my fondant on. I still use my arms to lift the fondant.

I've had the blue one for a while, and love it. I just used it a couple weeks ago and was able to cover a 12" square with fondant surprisingly easily.

I saw it on some website selling something called The Cake Wheel (which if I had the money I would buy one of those too! It was awesome!).

The mat I am talking is about is 36 x 24 blue silicone. I ordered one yesterday!
