Hi! I want to make a cake for my uncle using a square pan except i can't find a simple recipe that uses one.

The size i am using is 9x9 inch and was wondering if anyone would have a simple chocolate cake recipe that uses that cake pan that has cocoa in it not melted chocolate? If not even a vanilla cake recipe will do icon_smile.gif

Thank-you so much for any help icon_smile.gif

According to Fat Daddio, a 9x9x2 inch pan would require 5 cups of batter:

I normally make up my favorite cake recipe (as many times as required) to fill my cake pans.

Here's a cocoa chocolate cake recipe for a 9" pan that doesn't give a batter yield:

Thanks for the help Jan, i never have done it the cups of batter way because most of the recipes i use don't tell you how much batter etc but it's good to know anyway for one day when i may need to know that icon_smile.gif
