I love the look of fondant and have never used or even eaten it. What is a good first project? Just make a batch and drape it over a pan and play with it? Or do I do an actual cake?
My dream project is to make the present cake (you know, the square cake covered in fondant with a fondant bow) but I dont know how I should work up to it?
On a side note, I cant find any directions on the present cake, is it 2-2 inch tall cakes with filling between the layers? When cutting that type, can you just cut or is there supports in there? Thanks for answering very newbie questions, I have done searches on how to do the present cake without much luck

Making a batch and using your pan is an excellent idea!

Here's a page with video tutorials from SatinIce. There are others at YouTube.

Good Luck!
