I have a bride with an unusual request. She liked all 4 flavors that I made for her tasting, so she wants them all incorporated in a 4 tier cake...to feed 60...so...some suggestions on what sized to use.
Please keep in mind these are tiers with two layers of cake and a filling.
any and all suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks in advance!
I normally increase my tiers by 4" to give me some decorating room. Even if you only go 2", there is going to be a lot of cake. According to Earlene's serving chart, if you go 6, 8, 10, 12" rounds, it will be 98 servings or 90 if they don't cut the top tier. http://www.earlenescakes.com/ckserchart.htm
If I was there I would want a small piece of all the flavors! They might need more cake anyway.
Gosh how about a 4, 6, 7, 9 in? That would serve just over 60. But the 4" is probably only about 4-6 servings...of one flavor??. I would tell her she needs to order more cake, or less flavors.
