Thanks 4 your help Kim! You ever put your cake cover in MMF in the fridge? I read lots of forum and they said don't do it. By the way, your cakes are beautiful!

Thank you for the compliment! And yes, I certainly do put MMF in the fridge. That's what I use most the time. I have put Satin Ice in as well with no problems.

Go for it!

i do it all the time too icon_smile.gif. most of my cakes are smbc with fondant decorations.

you'll find there are folks who feel boths ways on this one. you'll find much in the forum for both cases.
i have never had a disaster with it and everything has worked out well, but i am still a little fearful if i have dark colors on light colors...but so far, so good even with purple and red.

two things you should bear in mind are that for best possible results bring your cake out of the fridge into a cool room (i live near boston which is hot and humid so i use an a/c room) to allow to come to room temp and if you do get condensation on the fondant as it comes to room temp, do not touch the fondant until the condensation is gone and dry.

one last thing i learned the hard way, is do NOT cover your cake with fondant decorations when you fridge it and bring it to room temp....you will get a gooey mess icon_smile.gif.

Diane, so do you mean that if you cover your cake in BC do not put the fondant decor on it until you've brought the cake back to room temp? I'm new at this too and have my first order to deliver on sat. I was gonna decorate Fri. night, fridge and deliver on Sat. Should I NOT do this? The post at the top by Kim sounds contrary unless I misunderstood. ?? icon_confused.gif
