Next month I have to do a 5 tier wedding cake. This is the biggest cake I've ever done. It is 5 tiers with a layer of roses between each tier(cake). What is the best way to stack it that will be the sturdiest? I feel that pillars are too long, and I may have extra space. I've checked out the hidden pillars and they are flimsy...makes me nervous. I have heard that the stand with just one 'pole' going through the whole cake is not the sturdiest. I am thinking just (plenty of) dowels and 1in. - 1 1/2in. dummies in between the cakes. I've seen cakes done like this but not sure of their reveiws. I can assemble the cake at the reception hall, or at home. Please give me some advice!
Thanks. icon_redface.gif
