How Do I Make A Little Blue Bird

I want to make a little blue bird to resemble the mascot for Twitter (i attached some photos as examples). I want to make him small and perch him on the tail of whale - long story
I am new at this and have become completely addicted to this site. I can't get enough of all the advice and discussions. Thank you all so much
I would appreciate any advice.
I'd try to mold it out of marshmallow fondant. Make a ball for the head and a bigger ball for the body. Stretch out the body ball to resemble the bird's shape and tail. Roll out some MMF to mold the wings. If you can't attach them, maybe you could stretch the wings out of a larger body with your fingers and trim or pinch the edges.
If you never made MMF before, the recipe is here on CC. I think you should cut it half (or less!)
The Wilton site has decorating techniques using fondant. They have a very cute little bluebird.
Check out the Cinderella cake in my photos!
I have 2 bluebirds flying off of the dress. PM me if you'd like!
i'm guessing you're making them three d- i would use 50/50 mix, i've made ducks, ladybugs, dogs, and when i made them with just fondant they take forever to dry, i made elmo and his but got really big lol. u tube has alot of video's on fondand/gum paste figurines, i think if you watch several videos, you'll get the jist of making different figures, i'm making the frog next he's so cute.
