HI Guys,

I have to make a strawberry cake for a co worker and wanted to garnish it with strawberries. Can I use frozen ones that I have in the freezer? Have anyone ever used them as a garnish frozen?

I have used them as a garnish (frozen) using whip cream icing. Just don't let them defrost before you put them on the cake because when they begin to defrost, the juices ooze! Half of the cake was gone before it actually started they started to thaw!!!

I don't recommend it. As mentioned above, as they thaw they will let out a lot of juice. They will also darken and become very mushy. Frozen strawberries are best used as an ingredient, rather than for presentation.

I agree. Don't use them as decoration.
