Most Recent Cake Photos Crawl Disappointment

I am so disappointed 
Maybe it's just me, but I get a kick out of seeing my work on the Most Recent Cake Photos crawl. I posted some cupcakes that I thought turned out particularly nice. Waited the appointed time (30 minutes) for them to appear. When I got back to the computer they had already come and gone. It seems that sometime the same things stay on forever. Guess I just picked a time when a lot of pics were being posted. I know they had been on because I got 8 views and I missed the whole thing. 
Very beautiful, and you are so right about some of the pics staying on the most recent forever...well, thanks for sharing those lovely cuppies with us.

I agree with most. It seems as though the cake I posted this morning was only up about 5 minutes then it disappeared and I was here looking at other stuff the whole time commenting on new cakes since I know how fast they disappear. I am a beginner and need all the encouragement I can get. I look forward to hearing comments and constructive criticism. (I don't get it at home that's for sure) I still click on the latest uploads button and check out the ones I might have missed being uploaded, but I don't htink a lot of people do.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about the new 'recent photos' feature. And it seems like it's taking mucher longer than in times past to make the updates.
I'm not one to complain, but I've been visiting the site less, hoping that when I do come back the site is it's glorious old self.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I barely look at the pics at all anymore, whereas that used to be one of my favorite things to do on the site.
Count me in on prefering the old way of viewing front page photos too. I guess it's just hard to accept change! Also is everyone else experiencing the slowness of the site as I am?????????? It's kind of discouraging at times. I love the site and spend so much time here.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I used to spend so much more time on CC. The home page was great w/the three rows of photos. Really don't like this new layout

I preferred the old way of showcasing the pictures too. I find myself not looking at the pictures as much as I used to. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I liked having the new pics and most popular today, most viewed, and holiday pics scrolling across the front page for easy access.
Your cuppies are beautiful and they look delicious! It's like being a kid again, you always ask for the slice with the big frosting flower on it! With your cuppies everyone gets the yummy flowers!
The same thing just happened to me. Loaded my picture but mine never even made it to the 'MRP' stream on the front page, got skipped right over. I've noticed that since there are so many photos being downloaded there are a lot less views. The only way to reallly see them is to go to the most recent uploaded photos gallery.
Heath has asked that comments about the old/new frontpage be held until the site update is complete:
