Haven't you seen an egg w/ 2 yolks before Gina? I'm sorry but I had to laugh at your post. I'm used to seeing them because I'm a country girl. We always say they are good luck too beachcakes~ Sorry if I offended you Gina, I don't mean too, just thought that was so funny
Gina,
I was making a cake the other day and got 2 different 2-yolk eggs. I debated it, and ended up counting each egg as 1 and my cake turned out fine. I had never had that happen before either.
I always buy double yolked eggs. As they're a bit larger than normal eggs I find that 2 of them are the equivilant of 3 ordinary eggs. I actually got a triple yolked egg the other day. That was the first one I've ever seen
I have seen the double and the triple before, but I was making omlettes, haven't run into it with baking...hmm I guess that's why I use 'eggs in a carton'
Yes, i have seen them before, but that was before I was a "true baker." Before baking, the only reason I used eggs was for scrambled eggs, so the 2 yolk thing didn't really matter. I just counted it as 1, and the cake turned out fine.
