I hope I'm not going out on a limb posting this, and I hope I don't rile the powers that be. But I noticed there's another CC cake decorating contest going on. I so-o-o wanted to see a cookie decorating contest! I wanted it bad enough that I sent an email, offering to put up $100 in prize money. My offer was very graciously declined, but it was still declined. It just makes you think that, as the subject line stated, cookies get no respect! When was the last time you saw a cookie decorating challenge on Food Network? I'd certainly watch if they ever did one. We have a plethora of fantastic cookie decorators on this site alone, Food Network wouldn't know who to pick! Sorry for my rant. This has just been eating at me.
I'd sure like to see one also....Cookies deserve respect...that is why I charge $5.00 each for them on my site!! If I am gonna put my heart and soul and time into them..I'm gonna get paid fairly for them!!
could we start cookie "throw downs" again? I know it's not an official CC contest, but it was fun to see the creations....

Maybe if enough of us send them emails requesting this. But they just don't seem to be very receptive to cookie ideas. I could be a bit too sensitive on the subject, though!

I found CC when my interest in cakes started. Looking through the site I was amazed at all the beautiful cookies I saw. I have just started to try cookies (& cakes too!) and they are so much fun. I LOVE COOKIES!!! Thank you to all you cookie pros for sharing your recipes, knowledge, and encouragement. I would love to see more cookie everything on Cake Central.

I'm totally with everyone on the "more cookies" requests as I love decorating them and seeing other decorators' cookies, too, but since this is CAKE Central not sure how much more cookie stuff they'll tolerate. Maybe the mods would be interested in starting a COOKIE Central as well???? All cookies all the time!!!!!
I'm new to all of this, including this site. Everyone here has "CRAZY SKILLS"!!! I want to be like you ladies when I grow up. That being said, looking through all the pictures, cakes and cookies too has given me the inspiration (and the confidence) to do more.
I made my first decorated cookies last weekend and I think they were a bigger hit than any of my cakes. I made them in the shape of ice cream cones, dipped in chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavored chocolate to look like ice cream, then hearts decorated like flags. I had so much fun doing it, now not only do I have cake ideas popping into my head 24/7, now I have cookie ideas popping into my head. Cookies definately deserve more recognition.

I asked about cookies being allowed to play when they had the 'Love' (I can't remember the exact name" competition and they politely said, "Not at this time." Maybe after the wedding when there is more time? I am sure they are phenomenally busy right now.
It would be nice as I think we make up a substantial part of CC. I know we certainly are a positive, supportive part of it. Hopefully our time will come.
I do not feel as though I am skilled enough to participate in any cookie design competitions or anything of the like, but I would be absolutely thrilled to see more cookie related anything on CC. I adore the cookie gallery and check it daily, there's so many talented cookie artists on here that make me "oooh" and "ahh".

I thought I would put my money where my mouth is, offering to sponsor the contest, hoping that that would be enough incentive to have one. Nope. "Not at this time". I know they're busy and this site has got to suck up all their time, but I was just disappointed to see yet another cake decorating contest being sponsored, while us cookie decorators have to wait. What can we do to make them see that there are alot of people that would like a cookie decorating contest? My skills are nowhere near the level of GeminiRJ or TracyLH, but I'm working on it.

It's funny cuz i've been trying to figure out how to get to the most recent cookie pics in the gallery and i'm being sent to the recent cake pics. I was going to ask you guys how to do this. I guess there isn't an option other than looking at the gallery again.
While i'm not nearly as skilled as many of you here, i'd also love to see what all of you come up with in a contest. It's too bad that cookies don't seem to be that important around here. Hope that's not true. If only they could really look at all your masterpieces, they'd see better talent here than with most of the cakes.
As far as food network challenge, i'd love to see a cookie decorating challenge too!!
I don't know if there's a way to do it, but can someone start a petition on CC to request some of the things that have been mentioned here? (cookie contest, "cookies on cakes" gallery, etc.)
