I just got a thank-you note in the mail from Belgium! The lady I did the sugared fruit wedding cake for lives there, but her family is here. Anyway, she sent me a picture of them cutting the cake and a really nice note about how perfect it looked, how great it tasted and how happy she was with it!
I've never had a bride thank ME - it gave me warm fuzzies!

That was so sweet of the bride! I look for thank you cards around 2 wks after the weddings... so far I haven't gotten any. Oh, well. I understand, the newlyweds are too busy~

I just received 2 pictures of a cake I'd done over a month ago! It was of the bride and groom. Very nice to add to my collection.

Haha, I think for many, just not receiving any complaints is as close to a compliment as you will get, or a referral. Likely folks are pleased but like so many other jobs folks get done, they don't think to comment unless it is a complaint, Turtle lady!

Your right Squirrelly, I have gotten quite a bit of referrals from the brides/grooms & family members & even quests. So I guess that's good enough for me!
Haha, anything positive will do, I think it is really something that this lady is in Belgium and still thought to write a note about a cake.
I have to admit I rather like seeing the person's reaction, seems to make it worthwhile. But I guess that only counts for one aspect, if you didn't see them eat the cake. Most of us would like to know that the customer liked both the look and the taste of the cake.
