The only thing the client said was that he spends most of his time as a spectator watching his grandkids games/concerts, etc. I thought about making a sheet that looks like a gift, but I'm not sure if the bow would be too feminine. The client specifically requested that it be manly - so no flowers!

Any other great ideas out there?!?!?!?

Maybe a square cake with a baseball cap on top with "#1 Granddad" on it?

Or a trophy that says "Grandfather of the Year"?

Just a few ideas that popped into my head.....HTH

Thanks jimandmollie. She did specifically request that both "Dad" and "Grandpa" be used on the cake so I'm not sure how to play that angle either!

I don't think a bow would be too feminine, especially if it's in a "manly" color, like a hunter green or navy blue. I can't really think of anything to go along w/the whole grandkid spectator aspect of it...I hope someone can help!

I agree that gift cakes can look masculine. How about a gift cake that says "Grandpas are the greatest gift! Happy Birthday, Dad". You could make fondant shapes like sports balls, music notes, and/or happy faces and paste them on the gift's "wrapping paper".

How about using Mallards? Or a Grandfather clock and your saying could be " We will love you till the end of TIME"

I just had a cake for a gentleman turning 75 and she left it open to me. She did say she liked the colors of brown and blue!
