I have been asked to do a Little Einstiens cake for a friends daughter's bday at the end of may. She bought the characters to use as toppers and would like 'rocket' to be incorporated somehow. I was going to use a colourflow but then saw the cake in the attachment and thought that that would be WAY cute. I've done animals out of fondant but never something quite like this.
Anyone have any tips on how to get this started and what the best techniques would be to successfully create 'rocket' out of fondant.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
LL

When I did my rocket, I used half of an egg pan (cake) to get the base part of the rocket and a small bowl that I used to press RKT into for the top part of the rocket. The engines were shaped RKT also, covered in BC and fondant and attached to the cake with skewers. I had bought a 2# tub of red Satin Ice from Global as I hate trying to get a true red color on my own. You can see my version of this cake in my gallery. It was a bit time consuming but the little boy loved it! Good luck!
