Hi girls,

Our church has a group of college aged singers who travel the country singing. Their main fundraiser is coming up. They have a dinner party and auction and I'd like to contribute a cookie bouquet but I'm stuck on ideas. Summer? Wine glasses? Not sure. Can you all help me brainstorm?

how about a music theme since they are singers?

You can always do the tried-and true...stars, balloons, flowers. You could also try finding a container you really like and using that as your inspiration.

Does your church have a "logo" or something you could use?

How about a mixture of tujy's and GeminiRJ's suggestions? Here are some pics of a guitar and music themed cookies... (not the neatest... icon_redface.gif ) but mixed in with some colourful flowers or balloons might look nice.

I agree with the music notes and instruments. Maybe even some crosses, doves, and little churches too.

Hi bellattheball -

this is just my experience, but when I first started doing things for fundraisers/auctions I assumed that people would want something related to the theme of the event. So I'd make a bouquet for that particular theme. Well, I soon discovered that a lot of the people who attend these events aren't directly connected to the event per say...they may be supporting the cause but don't actually belong to the church or have a son/daughter in choir, football, theatre, etc. So I've found that doing a fun, more specific-to-the-time-of-year arrangement is more effective than the actual event theme or logo.

Last november I did a thanksgiving bouquet for a local theatre production to raffle off when they did their Sound of Music production. People attending didn't necessarily want Sound of Music cookies but something more generic that everyone can relate to when they bring it home, kwim?

I love your wine glasses idea. Maybe add a wine bottle, block of cheese, grapes, flowers, etc. Good luck with what you decide!!

Thanks to you all for the great ideas! Bakincc's, that was my concern as well. One of the best restaurants in town is providing the food for the event so you never know if people are there to support the cause or just have a good meal! LOL Looks like I have some deciding to do. icon_biggrin.gif

On a side note, thanks to all of you for being so encouraging. It seems the cookie girls/guys really stick together and lend a lot of support. I certainly appreciate that!
