how do people end up with paper cupcake wrappers that still look pretty and not brown and ugly after they've been baked in? so far the only solution I have is to use dark liners. The white or light ones look kinda yucky (where the actual cake is)when they come out of the oven. Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way they are? Forgive me, if this is a dumb question; i am new to "cupcaking".

I know I have heard of people that will bake them in a plain white liner, then put them in a second "prettier" liner afterwards. Or use a pretty wrap. I hope this helps.
Can't help you with the liners...but have you seen these...

yes, i have seen those. they are such a neat idea, but they are so expensive (and those beautiful laser cut wrappers are way out of my budget, sigh).
i was thinking about maybe making my own sleeves. just a thought.
i love the look of all white papers, but they just look so bad after baking. i wonder if there is a really thick white liner out there.
after baking and decorating, I place my cupcakes in a fresh clean liner so they look fresh and pretty. Don't remove the baked liner, just sit in a new one.
Here is a template about how to make your own wrappers.
Never done it, just saved the link just in case

I don't use regular cupcake liners anymore since I had that problem (the liners came out greasy and ugly after baking). Now I only use the foil liners or greaseproof liners. I got mine from here www.vikingimporting.com
the global sugar arts newsletter I got today are advertising really lovely ones
hope this link works
