Haven't heard anything, except for 'friend requests', which I think are sort of strange, but, whatever...(I'm declining any guys, out of respect for my dh, who would not appreciate guy 'friends' online)

I'm so busy in the spring that if they call me (after I fall out of my chair with surprise), I probably won't seriously be able to go anyway, but it's fun watching the voting.

Keep in mind that the voting you see on reality wanted is not anything official. It does not decide who gets on the show. While the casting company does list their casting calls there as an additional place to find potential people, the voting is part of reality wanted's system, and is not how casting producers make their decisions.

That voting system is basically equivalent to trying to see who can get the most friends on myspace.

So please do not let that website affect your decision to participate.

Well, I just sent my email. I'm sure I don't have a snowball's chance in you know where. But after watching a cake challenge w/ dh this weekend & his response being "you have a long way before you are that good" "I mean you just don't have the experience, but you'll get there" I had to do it for me. I would be as nervous as crap, but part of me wishes I could be chosen just to show my dh & to boost my morale.

2. Edna, dancing the Salsa or Tango, with rose in the teeth, while doing her cake and promoting her new tv show "Dancing with the Cake Decorators!"

3. Sugarshack & Jen teaming up, Jen very excited, cause now is her chance to pay Sharon back for breaking her new pasta machine (you would have to read Sharon's blog, very funny story in her Kentucky class).

4. Mel, we would have to have Mel (where you at Mel?), who would be telling her funny stories. So that way everyone would be laughing so hard they couldn't hold their piping bags still to do scroll work.

Now I couldn't do this because, I am way to slow and it would turn into a mini series and I would most and likey pass out, face 1st. right into the cake. Then have a head line in the enquirer that reads "Drunk cake decorator passes out on live TV event".

Ummmm icon_twisted.gif , maybe I should do it and bring a fifth of Kentucky Bourbon, spike everyone's drinks. WOW a bunch of drunken decorators, now that would be something to watch icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif On the other hand, no because I like everyone to much to do that icon_smile.gif Sorry to get off the topic at hand, just having some fun.

God Bless,
Sharon

I have had to edit 2 times all ready, I swear I have not been drinking any icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I am behind in reading this hilarious thread, but I almost fell off my chair laughing reading this! My son came over read it and looked at me so seriously and said, thats not funny mom you should never drink when you are making a cake! ! ! ! ! ! he is 7!

OK, it is official I am a CC dork! I just applied. The thought of meeting some of the people, Edna, Indy, and the list goes on, it was just too tempting. They have to have an underdog right? Seriously, right? My DH says go for it but is just like Dandies DH. Supportive but "being realistic", "they have tons of experiences and years of practice"! Dandie, we can do it! Any one of us has the chance and they are giving us the opportunity! Dream it - Believe it - Achieve it!!!!

I would love the challenge! I may stain my pants, but just to meet others from CC or just other people who share my passion would be the best! I'm bad to look at other's work though & tell my self, "no way in the world!" I haven't had a response though. I'm sure they have been bombarded w/ a lot of CCers.

so I entered this before looking at all of your cakes, and well let me just say that although I have looked at some of your cakes in the past I dont normally post on the boards plus I never consider "competition" but really I have no chance. Many of you are really really talented! and it makes me think that were I thought I was I am really not

oh well

Best of luck to everyone and I hope you all make it and have a lot of fun doing it!!!!!

Gina,

Don't feel bad--I am sure your cakes are beautiful. I know I for one would love to see some. I looked at your profile and couldn't find any. Please post some.

Everyone here at CC is fabulous, we are all very talented people. I too just now decided to go for it, though two seconds later I deperately wanted a recall button icon_eek.gif Oh, well too late now. I don' t think as artist we ever feel good enough icon_sad.gif I know I don't!

Good luck everyone, I will certainly watch and cheer on my fellow CC cake artists. Anyone need an assistant?

Good luck everyone!!!!

I think that you guys should apply, have fun and enjoy it. You have nothing to lose, except time. If you don't try - you will never know. Remember. Life is taking chances. Everyone has talent if you do it with love

If you check the rules etc for each competition listed on reality wanted.com, it should tell you. The wedding cake one is 5/2 and 3 in Maryland.

Ladybee - the competition on TV is not being hosted by CC, but you do have to be a US citizen (per Heath) - If you are talking about the cake competition at the top of the page - that is open to anyone.

The TV Series will be held in California and they pay all the expenses for you and your assistant - he (casting director) said you will be needed for 3 to 5 days.

I have been so nervous about making my video - I'm doing it tomorrow afternoon - time to bite the bullet!!

good luck to all that applied!!

Edna - what did you decide to do??

See Heath's original post on the first page. That is where you need to start. Send in an email with a short bio, your cake pics and a recent pic of yourself - if they are interested you will hear back.

By some shocking miracle the casting director emailed me back and asked me to call him - he filled me in on some missing information. I just thought that I would share.
