I bought an ice cream scoop which of course was made for a right handed person, but I just used it with my left hand as I do many utensils. Well I had to push the lever several times to get the scoop of batter out. Frustrated I told DH the darn scoop didn't work. He tried it and low and behold the batter came out in a nice little round scoop. I awkwardly tried with my right hand and perfest little scoops. So lefties if he scoops not working, switch hands. It actually makes a difference!

Better yet, buy a scoop that looks like the attached picture, and it can be used by anyone, righty or southpaw.

That's interesting! I just bought an ice cream scoop and until I read this post, it didn't even occur to me that a leftie might have problems with it.

Oh the wonderful gadgets that are made for right handed people.
Most of the gadgets in my kitchen are for right handed people. I have had to learn them all. I bought theleft handed rose tip. I was excited tht they make them. Well I taught myself to use the right one for so long I cant use a left handed tip.

There are entire stores devoted to the left-handed person. Most of them are online. I shop with them for some of my nieces.
