No argument there. It's the sweet, southern, "I treat my momma like a queen" thing that gets me.

Do not get me started on the Foreman. (Mark) I luuuurve his movies because that guy can MOVE! And the fact that he is pretty doesn't hurt.

Oh no... we've done it again. This place should be called Beefcake Central. icon_redface.gif I'd be ashamed if I weren't so naturally brazen. icon_lol.gif

Ok ... It is Geoff's personality that makes him hott. I love his sense of humor and I think he is cute.

I am 37 does that make me a Cougar? LOL

As far as looks go
(and I will probably take a lot of heat for this one)
I think Guy Fieri is pretty Yummy and Alton reminds me of my 9th grade science teacher.

wow this blog is getting long it took me 20 min to catch up . first of i really really appricate all the kind words and support you guys are all great. it really means alot to me. just wanted to remind you all to watch gma tommorow between 8 and 9 i did a cake for someone it is a surprise so check it out . i have been doing this cake all day and it came great so i am happy it is done tommorow i will post a picture for you guys. as far as fn checking out your blogs they do . they told me about a couple of threads where they talk about challange . tv without pity is the worst they bash everybody there i was gonna post there but it is people who do not know shit so what is the use they would never understand what goes into it . i posted here because i am the same as every one here just a person who loves to do cakes at the end of the day. what you people thought of me meant something and i just wanted to tell a little bit about myself. we all share the same interest and we all started somewhere . i remember being a young boy and me and my dad would say i wish my cakes were in magizines and me telling him dad one day everybody is gonna know who we are and what we do. so this is mine and my fathers dream and it has been a long time in the making. my dad died when i was 17 and i droped out of school to run the bussiness. the hardest part was trying to fill my dads shoes he was truely agreat baker and i had to gain the respect of the emploies who had alot more experiance then me. although i was young i had already become a good decorator it just came natrualy to me i started when i was 11 or 12 and at 17 i was pretty good. but with many days and nights of hard work and thousands of cakes i am who i am today. the truth of it is if you have to finish 50 wedding cakes in a weekend you get good and fast quick cause you get alot of practice. i know my father is looking down on me and smileing now

The more I read about you the more I like! It's nice to know you started off dreaming of making it big just like so many people on here... I'm sorry to hear that about your father, but I'm sure that your working hard in honor of him is what has made you the decorator you are today...
When does your show start again? April?

What a wonderful back story Buddy. Your dad would be so proud to see how far you have come. Best of luck with the show... I can't wait to see it.

I think it's great that you are at the caliber you are at and still feel that deep down we are all the same... people who love cake. Speaks volumes of your character and I respect that enormously.

I think it is interesting that Collete Peters was either a contestant or a judge on almost every challenge. She lost the challenge for the "Food Network Anniversary Cake" and I haven't seeen her since. Anybody know what's up?

Hi Everyone...it's Anne Heap icon_smile.gif My husband told me about this thread..so I started reading... Let me just say WOW! I'm so thankful to everyone for being so supportive of my cake demise icon_smile.gif It's nice to know that people understand that wasn't my best work.... It is scary what editing can do though. 8 hours of challenge, plus 2 hours of interviews per person...squished into 45 minutes of drama filled tv!!!

First of all...I have to say first hand that Buddy is a great guy! Not only is he talented and hysterical...but he was extremely supportive and kind after I broke into tears after the challenge. (All of the competitors were actually). But Buddy is like a big cake making teddy bear (Sorry Buddy - I'm not trying to ruin your 'tough-guy' persona...but it's the truth!) icon_smile.gif I'm personally excited to see his show..I think it will be great!

Back to editing...it's actually scary how they created a total villain out of my bride. Although I had no idea she wanted to bail on me until after I saw the show..she did in fact tell the judges she liked the cake...(although after watching I guess she didn't icon_smile.gif)!!! Haha...

Anyway...Buddy, Elizabeth and Jason are all successful and talented people. The challenge put us in an unrealistic and ridiculous situation, where the 'client' isn't the one judging us. Of course the rest of the group knew how to play the game....encouraging their plan on the bride. Not because that's what they'd do in real life, but because they had 8 hours to decorate a cake without a skilled assistant, and with only the supplies they came to Denver with.

So that being said, it was a great experience...but a lot goes on that isn't shown ...and somehow with just a few spliced comments.....everything that isn't ...is.....
and those are my deep thoughts icon_smile.gif

I think many FN challengers would concur with the comments of the sugar artists that have been on the show. I know someone who competed and they were always changing the rules....you bring an assistant, now we will have an assistant for you...then you get there and discover that you ARE the assistant. There are so many surprises tossed into the mix.

I realize they are trying to mix up the show and keep it from being the same ole', same ole', but it has got to be frustrating, challenging, and stressful to the competitors.

I thought I'd check in just one more time on this thread and then quit reading...yeah right...now that my CAKE IDOL is on I'll be reading away!

Anne, your cakes are absolutely gorgeous - I love all of your work. It is so clean and crisp while being cute, fun, playful, and beautiful all at the same time. If I could take a class from any cake decorator for a day, it would be you!!! If you look at my pics, you'll see a few cakes inspired by you (hopefully they are recognizable!! icon_smile.gif).

I'm sorry the way this challenge turned out for you, but I'm looking forward to your next attempt. Good luck and keep up the beautiful work!

Anne - Welocme to Cake Central! I love your work and check your blog for new pictures almost daily! Keep up the awesome work!

Buddy - Do NOT go on Television without Pity no matter how tempting it may be!! They are brutal on there -esp. when someone gets on to defend themselves. It used to be a really fun site and there are some great people on there, but some of them just take things way to seriously and read way to much into what others say and do! You are known and respected with this crowd - and I don't think anyone on here will begrudge you a little venting now and then. If you need to blow off steam, do it here were your work is appreciated!

Good luck with the new show - I can't wait to see it!

Anne, you are a class act and I LOVE your work as well. I can't wait to see your next challenge, please let us know when it will air.

I'm off to work on cloud9!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Wow, 14 pages I had to read thru! My comment: apparently I wasn't paying enough attention, because I did not get the impression AT ALL that Buddy was being cocky. He knew what needed to be done and did it. His cake was gorgeous! And Josh....loved the part where the bride wanted a monogram and the camera cuts to Josh, "I hate monograms." His piping is fantastic, his cake was fantastic, and the whole "you need to give us something different" is a crock. The first rule of competition is do what you do best.

Overall, this challenge was one of my least favorites. (Though I was happy to see Buddy win...that was the only part I like). Pairing these professionals with a complete novice? HATED that concept! Felt so bad for Anne. Elizabeth's cake wasn't my cup of tea, but it was still impressive.
