Hi all

Lizzy, get well soon, & the rest of your clan. I love brownies too!

Chezza those brownies look lush.

Nanny, I hope you recover soon, goodness knows you've had your share of viruses.

Maisie, Dr oetker SP isn't easy to handle, but it smooths beautifully. I spent ages smoothing it because I could see it was working!

Wow guys you are all making me hungry with this brownie and Vienese whirls talk. I'm on a wedding diet don't ya know!? Haha I could kill for a full fat stodgy brown right now I made some slimming world brownies the other day complete with chocolate frosting. Only half a syn each! Bleh, they're horrid. Quark makes them taste all sour and they're too airy.

Sorry to hear about Sarahs news nanny. You all seem to be having a hard time of things lately.

Nice to see you again spireite.

I didn't like dr oetker's at all Jean but it looks lovely on your cake.

I meant to say earlier Nicola, I've seen three yellow and grey cakes in the last couple of days. Are you a member or can you have a look at a Facebook group called all about cake decorating, saw a gorgeous one on there today, every tier different. icon_smile.gif

I'm off to bed now, night everyone.

Those brownies look delicious chezza, I love gooey brownies too, love them warm with double cream or ice cream. My son is such a big brownie fan they're his favourite baked good. I need to do more baking of other things other than cakes, I used to bake a big variety of items but since I got into cake decorating I tend to just bake cakes and cupcakes.

I've seen lots of slimming world bakes but I don't bother trying them as I know they'll never be as good as the real thing and I'd be disappointed. I think I'd rather wait and have a treat every once in a while, I think baking suffers if it doesn't have proper butter and sugar in it, well that's my opinion anyway.

Morning all. Thanks for the comments on my cakes Maisie and for the mini Mars tip! I used Dr oetker paste and I loved it! I didn't have time to cover the board so I put a collar around it. It went on in 3 parts but when I had finished smoothing you couldn't see any joins. I was very happy with it.
