AI tell a lie I did it more than once, I remember starting work to find the girls had a fund going for xmas, so naturally I was added, I was 17 at the time, the day we finished, all the drink came out, well no need to tell you what happened, we had a mini bus to take us to work, I was on the bus, started to feel a bit yuck, next I thing I knew I threw up, but in my handbag, omg I was out for count for 2 days, again she wasn't happy. One very naughty nanny then I can tell you!

Yes it does seem good Chezza and has good reviews.

That's typical isn't it Nanny, I'm sneezing my head off myself and had a massive headache and stomach ache yesterday. I hope I don't come down with something I've to much to do.

AMorning all. :-)

Aw poor nanny! There's an awful lot of ot around, viruses and sickness, seems like everyone's got or had one or the other. Just have lots of breaks and drink plenty, hopefully it won't hang around long. And speaking of sick, in your handbag nanny, really? Lmao! :-D

Your "hypothetical" drunken story made me laugh too Jean. When I was about 17 we started drinking earlier than usual Christmas Day. People kept dropping in, were offered a drink and they all sort of forgot to go home. It turned into an impromptu party, we had turkey sandwiches, pickles and mince pies to soak the booze up and then had the leftover turkey for Christmas dinner on Boxing Day. My mam felt a bit bad the next day cos my little brothers hadn't had a proper Christmas Day but they thought it was hilarious and they still talk about it now. :-)

Lovely cake roxy, that's on my never ending list of things to have a go at. The ribbon is cute too. :-)

Thankyou for the tree pictures everyone, Leah was delighted this morning. :-) I love your fireplace Kathy. Mel I've been told I'm a bit control freaky where my tree is concerned but I'm not at all. If they'd learn to put the stuff on it where it's supposed to or just leave it a flipping lone I wouldn't have to shout at them would I?! Lovely cake mel, the pony is cute and I live the grass up the sides.

Lovely toppers sugarluva, penguins are my favourite. How are you feeling today?

How's the patient tiddy?

The cake is much better with the red bits Sarah, it looks finished now, I'm sure they'll love them. :-)

That flower is beautiful Lynne, looking forward to seeing it on the cake. I was disappointed jake went out of strictly yesterday, I really liked him. I like mark as well so I'd have been disappointed either way.

How are you today chezzabelle?

Jean, you won't be on your own, I usually avoid whatever's going around just ling enough to nurse everyone else and then come down with it Christmas week!

Hi MB.:-)

Blimey, that was longer than I thought! Hope I haven't missed anyone. I'm off to (hopefully) finish my Christmas shopping now. Have a good day everyone. :-)

Oh no! Well shouldn't be too bad, since your DIL doesn't say anything to your face. Sarah's there too! There'll be tension in the air then!

Why are they all going with you to deliver the cake?

AHi all.

Sorry I've been so rubbish at being on lately. It's was manic last week, was out every night and busy all day. I can't catch up properly, there's just too much.

Kelsey, thanks for the lovely card :)

Kitchen just hit saga status. Was due to phone and make payment today and then get delivery next week to hold till the 5th. 09:30 a man turns up and says I've got your kitchen, where do you want it? Erm..,. Back at the shop till next week lol told him we haven't paid yet and explained, anyway, end up having to pay on a credit card to get it delivered today, kitchen people saying they didn't out the order through yet, don't know how it's happened. Hmm. Unbelieveable!

Anyways, apart from that I have a quieter week this week so going to try and catch up a bit.

Hope everyone is ok. X

AOkay, everyone'seems opinion on this please as got time to make more if need to, the top tier of this cake is gonna have 3 sprigs of ivy, one large poinsettia on top, surrounded by by small xmas roses and little conest, around the sides is gold ribbon and teeny tiny Holly and berries, is that enough?

They are strong colours and dont want to over complicate it as it a small 6 inch cake, what do you think? Was gonna wire some larger Holly and add to the already wired ivy, yes or no?

ABlimey Sian where are you going to store a kitchen til January? Or are you going to put it in now? Sounds like a bit of a mare either way to me.

Nanny I think that sounds like enough tbh. Have you got a 6 inch dummy to arrange them on and see how it looks? Or a cake tin or side plate, something the same size. It's got to be in proportion hasn't it. Good luck with shopping, in Cardiff, the weekend before Christmas, with DIL in tow. I don't know how de-stressed you'll be at the end of it tho!

Hi Suzanne, glad it went well. I don't know what I was expecting when you said you made cookies but they're fab! I should've realised they'd match the cake shouldn't I. The cake is brilliant, I love the monopoly man and I love the little iron, I was always the iron when we played when I was still at home. My dad was always banker and he always won, funny that! :-) What did Daniel say when he saw it?

Hi chezzabelle, how are you today?

Hi all

Nanny I nearly always make sketches of my cakes so I (and customer) have an idea what the final cake will look like. Maybe you could do this, even though you've already made the flowers etc? Otherwise, make more than you need so that if the cake looks like it still needs some berries/leaves/cones here and there, you 've got them to hand. Try what Maisie said- arrange them on a dummy :)

Suzanne, your cake and cookies are fantastic. The edges are so sharp! I'm sure Daniel was really happy with it.

I've made 5 banana cakes, 3 gingerbread loaves are in the oven, and will bake my oatmeal choc chip cookies later after the school run. I started after lunch, but even so I'm so dang slow!! These are all for my gifts to family and friends. Apart from my friend's son, that's all they're getting from me this year lol

AMaisie it's in the garage for now. Have just realised it's completely cut off the second freeze though and Saturdays dinner is in there lol. Oh well. We'll sort it. Have a massive headache now though :(

Nanny, it's very hard to tell until it's together, I think a sketch would be helpful though.

Suzanne, that cakes amazing. Have you still got cramp in your hand for All rhose biscuits though? They are such a great idea. :)

AEvening all :-)

How's Justin tiddy? That sounds awful, I hope he's not in too much pain. Your Lego cake is so cool!

Happy birthday Lynne! Sounds like you had a lovely day.

Lucky you going to see olly murs Cheryl, he's my guilty pleasure :-D

Oh no Sian, that's not what you need, although at least you'll be all ready to go, when you're all ready to go :-D

Rofl @ you lot getting trousered, I'd never do that... ;-)

Now who was it who did the David Austin rose? It's really beautiful. And nanny, yours is lovely too, it's such a pretty soft cream colour.

The holly cake's are really lovely, but I think I'd be donating the mil's one to charity of that's get attitude!

Good luck with the dil nanny, at least you'll have Sarah there for moral support :-/

I thought leah might like that photo maisie! I have of course been out scouring the streets for all the other frozen characters for you, no luck yet though :-D

Suzanne, that cake was so worth the worry and stress! It's just brilliant. I'm the same as maisie with the cookies; I don't know what I was expecting but they are great, so much better than I had in my mind!

I'm running on fumes atm. 4 cakes including a 4 tier wedding in the last two weeks with one more this Thurs, trying to paint the extension before the carpet goes down on Friday (my lovely mum and dad gave us all a grand a couple of weeks ago or that would never have been happening!), and we have to do the skirting (as in put some in) before then too. Everyone is over for Christmas so working like mad to get the house in some vague semblance of order - haven't even managed to get the tree up yet as I refused to put it up with the front room in the state it was in. Oh, and meetings galore for something we're doing in Feb, plus having to write to the poxy builder to ask why the hell there is no insulation whatsoever in the side extension (it was freezing in there so we took a light out and stuck a camera through the hole to look). Oh, and the underfloor heating is not running in the hall but it is in the bathroom - it's all one run so this is very bad :-(

Going to try and get photos of cakes up later, but don't count on it!

I did manage to get cards done yesterday though so that's one thing sorted :-)

Hello everyone! So much to catch up on. Tiddy, I'm so glad Justin is doing okay and that is a really cute Lego cake!

Nanny your flowers are so beautiful! I'm going to be making some roses soon and I hope they are as pretty as yours!

I am in SO MUCH AWE of the Bar Mitzvah cake. So beautifully done. Was this for your son? Or was the beach one for your son?

Who did the Minion cake? Also amazing and very cute. I can't see the mess on it. What do you mean about panelling it next time? How would you do that? Wrap a layer around and then stick something on the top of it?

The christmas cupcake toppers are beautiful and SO MUCH WORK! I had 60 to do though mine were simpler.

This is actually the happiest tray I have ever seen! The Santas took forever. That stupid holly on his hat that I insisted on doing. ARGH!

A family friend asked me for a small cake. I didn't charge her so I asked her if I could experiment with something.

Hmm you can't see it here unfortunately.

I'd like to try it again except with warmer buttercream. The kitchen is in an extension. It doesn't have proper insulation and this was late at night. The buttercream was so stiff that I could barely get it out of the bag. Hence why it's all crinkly and stuff. I'd like to try it again with a heater next to me perhaps.

AIt's still good tho smysha.

Right okay, I need some good vibes, i'm not fishing for compliments, but the nerves are starting to kick in and i'm beginning to think i'm not good enough, I don't know why, I Google Christmas wedding cakes and there are some lovely ones on there, don't don't want it to look a mature, I made some berries on wires, and for an extra sparkleffort I dip them in red glitter, good idea or not? Shall I show you.

And I don't know which poinsettia to use, wired or non wired, I actually prefer the look of the non wired now I dusted it and it looks a proper red flower, i'm not normall this bad,it hasn't helped that the bride came over and paid for it.

So come cakey mates, help me out here, john'so going to buy me a larger Holly leaf tomorrow as mine is to small.
