ABlimey Jean, you're brave taking a little un shopping in a Saturday in December! Their excitement is infectious isn't it. :-)

Kelly I would buy it. I've just got an airbrush for Christmas and I fear for my kitchen! I'm looking at the boxes when I'm buying presents, wondering if they'll be a good size for airbrushing. Something see through would be so much better tho.

AHi everyone. I braved the shops today so have been awol from here I'm afraid. Just gone up to bed now and my toothache has started again so now I'm dreading going to sleep because I do know it will wake me up during the night. I hate th dentist so much though I refuse to go.

Did Ok with our shopping today though so pleased that we got a few bits out of the way. Still so much to buy though. Off to a victorian Christmas market tomorrow afternoon hopefully.

I love love Christmas. I love the whole run up to it and everything, all the markets and shopping etc. I'm not religious though, not in any way at all even though my parents kind of brought me up Christian. I just decided it wasn't for me and made my own mind up with what I believed. I know some people say it's hypocritical to then celebrate Christmas but for me Christmas time is just about family and spending time together and it was just such a lovely time when we were young that I can't wait to have kids and to do this same traditions with them.

Let me see if I can take any good pictures for our decorations for Leah. They never seem to come up well on my phone with all of the lights...

Ooh found those on my phone from the other day. I can't take any better ones tonight with it being dark it looks all funny. Hope Leah approves!

Hope you're feeling better Chezza and everyone else who was feeling ill. Hope everything went well Tiddy too.

Nanny that Starbucks mug is fantastic. Love the little holly on top as well.

Mel you're cakes looks perfect too, very girly.

Ok I hope that was everyone I meant to catch up with...

AThanks sugarluva, I'm sure Leah will approve, I'll show her in the morning. :-) she's loving all these Christmassy photos, she's getting more excited by the day. I don't think it's hypocritical at all to celebrate Christmas if you're not religious. I agree with you, it's about family and tradition and warm cosy memories. It's about being kind and spreading joy isn't it? That's got to be good whatever your religion. One of the things I like most about it is people, strangers, neighbours you rarely speak to, whatever, smile and say merry christmas. You can feel Christmas in the air then can't you. :-)

Tiddy was doing a test today I think nanny.

Have I missed Mel's cakes then? I'll have to go back and have a look.

ALovely trees everyone, really beautiful.

Have to be honest if it wasn't for Ioan, xmas would be pretty boring, Sarah adores xmas I know, and she could quite easily go back to being a 5 yr old I can tell you, but it's the joy of see Ioan all excited I love.

Sadly we wont see him for xmas dinner this yr, I did invite them as I do every yr, even though I struggle with my D-I-L, they are eating out, then we are over my sis in law's for Boxing day, her turn this yr.

I'm not sure what's wrong with her, she makes passive aggressive comments, then has a go at me, all in a text, never to my face, drives me nuts.

AOk, let's get up and assemble this cake, hope she likes it.

I find mens cakes hard as you can't make them pretty.

She wanted a white cake, with a trainer, ( although not to happy with the trainer) for me it's slightly wrong shape, should be a little longer at the front and more rounded, hey oh its done now and can't change it, then a starbucks mug with a swirl of cream, so thatscwhat I did.

AOh tidds, I totally missed this convo, I had no idea, did you honestly think you were then?, mind you before I stopped 3 yrs ago, they were so irregular at one point, went to docs she said it was an in balance with my periods, in a confused state for want of a better word, and put me on the pill for a few weeks, all odd.

What's happens now then tidds?

AStill not sure what's going on nanny but did panic for a moment! I was sterilized ten years ago so would be the ultimate practical joke that! Mind you having googled this week I have discovered that the method they used (clips) has a 6/1000 failure rate at ten years! Gosh I've read sone horror stories! Lol...my sensible brain says....no way then my other brain goes.....well U do have clusters which is a 1 in every 10,000 so if its gonna happen to anyone it will be you! Lol I went docs last year and he said I wasn't pre menopausal as I was worried so god knows but usually can set my clock by them even if im stressed. Have very short cycles, always have so should have been 23rd :( I don't even feel like its going to arrive though! Strange! (Sorry if I put anyone off their cornflakes) If anything I've been unusually chirpy this week haha!

AMorning all Tiddy - the same thing happened to me when I was in my mid forties. (I had my daughter at 39). It was the start of my change. I was actually a bit sad if I'm honest but probably best anyway as I was totally k*ackered all the time with two kids running rings round me.

Lovely mug Barbara - so realistic.

Off shopping now - wiag me luck! Kathy

AMorning all. :-)

Leah approves sugarluva, she said "ooooh, cwsissmass stocking"! :-)

I know someone who had a baby after she was sterilised tiddy, it was years ago tho, he's in his twenties now. The doctors told her the body will try to heal itself. So if your tubes are tied they'll try to untie themselves, if they're clipped they'll try to work the clips off etc. it makes sense really I s'pose. When I was done 15 years ago they cut and tied them. My next door neighbour is 47 and she was regular as clockwork til this year then all of a sudden they stopped. She's only had two all year. I can't speak to her some mornings in case she bites my head off, awful hormonal she is. You should go to the gp, my neighbour gets all the symptoms and all the moods, she feels due on all the time. If you're in pain but not period pain it needs to be checked out.

You were lucky Kathy, got your babies in before it was too late. I don't know how you did it, I couldn't cope with babies now at my age, just the thought of it fills me with horror! Good luck shopping, Sunday's the new Saturday, the shops are gona be heaving!

Who's horrible to you nanny? SIL or DIL, I couldn't tell. There's a shame you won't have Ioan for dinner, will you be seeing him at all on Christmas Day?

AThanks kathy, yes you will need some luck today.

My daughter in law maisie, she is defensive, paranoid, passive aggressive, she always thinks the worst of me, never gives me the beneft of the doubt. Sarah hates her unfortunately, unfortunately she gives the impression she is so jealous of our relationship, I try to warm to her, god forbid I even made her a xmas cake, and a birthday cake, the pretty one with the cards I made o top, what did she say to me on my birthday, Happy birthday, 1 kiss, very warm, had more warmth from you guys on her, no prezzie from ioan, I was upset, not anymore, used to it.

This is why she's booked a meal out i'm sure, we will see him xmas day tho, take his prezzies up. Sorry having a rant about her, she is a nice person apparently, just not to us.

Finished my cake. Here it is.

AYes Maisie tis more common than I knew! had I know they would have been told to cut clip tie and burn :D

I'm going docs first thing as it is also common to have a tubal :(

Having Amber almost killed me (really) and that's why I had it done in the first place so it would not be good for that reason as god forbid it did happen I couldn't get rid! The universe knows this! I've been saying bring on the menopause for years so fingers crossed :D

Aw nanny that's such a pity. I think it's unfair of her to go out for dinner. You have Ioan loads, she doesn't mind that does she? And I bet Ioan will miss dinner with you too. :-( I can't believe anyone would have a problem with you, you're so lovely and easy going. Such a shame. What about inviting them round for tea? Ask Richard maybe?

Tiddy hope you manage to get to docs tomorrow and they can sort you out! ( in a good way) lol...

Chezzabelle sorry to hear your still suffering fingers crossed you feel a bit better tomorrow.

Maisie does Leah manage to get to sleep ok at night with all her excitement with christmas?

Don't know if any of our Welsh friends know of Cribbs Causeway shopping mall here in Bristol or not but it's bloody manic there, getting in & out of there by road is herrendous this time of year! It totally takes the fun out of christmas shopping!

ATimeNanny, bet your DIL wouldn't say what she does if your son could see what she writes! Could you ask your son to read what she writes next time and say you're showing it to him because you're not sure what she means? Just say you don't want to get the wrong end of the stick! Has she always done it?
