Hiya,

Just a quick message, mainly to Siany (I'll send her a pm as well!)- the pan I used to make the chocolate cake is 7x11. I typed in 9x13 by mistake!!

Sorry will catch up with the thread when I've got more time!

Well I've started my Xmas shopping!

This is for my daughter:

I ordered them yesterday from Make Bake and they got here just now - free post too.  Very impressed!

AWow you have all got some serious toy playing to be getting on with. I'm very jealous. Can't wait to see what you all come up with though.

Have done the survey for your daughter Kathy - and as Sian mentioned I too just out down Employed working full time even though technically I'm self employed.

Gray I wish I thought about spending money a bit more! I usually buy and then think about it! Haha. I don't smoke though or drink, well not every night...

Finished my oreo cupcakes this morning and they are still super yummy!

Thank you Sugarluva - I told my daughter about the survey thing and she seems to think it can't be changed now and it is OK to put employed.  Thanks for doing it everyone.

I love the look of those cupcakes!  I could eat one of those right now.

Thanks Loubee and everyone else who has done the survey - I don't like asking for these things but it is only a very quick survey and last year she only got around 10 replies.  We've at least doubled that!  She's after a large cross section and I don't think we can get better than all my cakey friends!

Loubee Iike those boxes - now going to have to go back on to Ebay again!!

For those of you buying from China and Hongkong, my mum ordered some cutters from China and this was before she arrived here for the summer. Although she lives in Hongkong- the postage from china to hk was horrendous, it was actually cheaper to have it shipped here. Go figure! Anyway, long story short, she stayed a month, no cutters, she got a replacement sent to hongkong, only for her original order to arrive over 8weeks later. I would imagine it can take a while sometimes, slow boat from china and all that LOL

Catsmum I watched Cassie Brown demo the sea holly on create and craft a while ago, for the centre she made a rose bud (Cone) shape, warmed the wire with a lighter and stuck it in the rose bud then with the curved siccors starting at the made little snips in the cone then moved down and repeated, similar to the centre of a magnolia. Here is a magnolia video it's pretty much the same except all the cone is snipped HTH

AHi guys.:-)

Cupcakes look lovely sugarluva.

Wow nanny, lush new toys!

Kathy I did your daughters survey this morning but was on my way to a funeral so didn't have time to pop in for a chat. I would've liked to have ticked "carer" or even "housewife". As much as I object to housewife I hate ticking unemployed. I hate being unemployed, hate being on benefits, hate feeling the need to explain to people I'm a carer cos I don't want them to think I'm a lazy scrounger who sits on her backside watching Jeremy vile all day. I'm well jel of people with jobs and normal lives! :-D

I've had loads of stuff from Hong Kong and China, mostly cakey stuff but more recently ties for my brothers vow renewal. We ordered two about two months ago, they came in a week. Ordered another two about three weeks ago and they didn't come til yesterday. I think people are Christmas shopping now so it's getting busy.

Thanks Jean, thanks Maisie - I did query something else with her this morning but I believe it can't be changed.  She will take all comments on board since it's useful to get any sort of feedback.  Sorry to hear you were at a funeral today - hope you are OK?  Yes - I will be surprised if I get my cakey bits before Christmas (if at all).  Well I got my plastic stacking box - really pleased with it.  Going to really enjoy organising my colours in a Monica sort of way ;)

ADiamonte not diamond, still the same I guess, incase your wondering they are all cut out separately 7 in all the I attached them all to a round disc, abit time consuming if you had to make loads, but just experimenting.

AI have just baked the mud cake you all recommended on UK bakers clan. It's still in the oven, is it supposed to be an extremely runny batter? I've never made a batter so runny! But I followed the recipe to a T so I don't think I did anything wrong?

Sugarluva - never made that recipe but recently made a red velvet and that was quite runny.  Turned out OK though.

Oh Sock Monkey - you poor thing.  Sorry if the survey brought things to the surface - that wasn't my intention.  In fact, I had no idea.  Given feedback to her.  Thanks to everyone who helped - I really appreciate it.

Oh, no it didn't make me feel bad at all! Don't worry, I just thought it was interesting that other people who don't work for different reasons also get a hard time or feel like they're being judged.

Jeans choc cake is a very runny batter but it makes a lovely cake. My mud cake is also quite funny but comes out good too /)

Ive had a bit of a crap day :(

My Aunt died today :( and also discovered that my father has lung and pelvic cancer and also parkinsons. I have never met him but recently I was traced by his sister that no one knew about via genes reunited. So together we are now trying to see if we can go and see him soon. All a bit strange and not too sure how i feel about it all to be honest.

So to take my mind off things I have been playing with a few new toys :D oooooh and my bakedrop came as well! So I shall make this dummy and take a picture and see what happens

Oh I'm sorry to hear that Andrea. What a bizzare situation to end up in. Just do what feels right to you. That's all any of us can do in the end.

Loling forward to seeing your creation :)

I'm going to have a play with my new patchwork cutter soon.

Just accidentally ordered 3 onlays from that shop Roxy. Hopefully they'll come quickly :). One was a bid one and I mis typed my highest bid to £3,263!! Luckily it stopped at £3.70 lol (was meant to be £3.63) I didn't actually think I won it. Looking forward to those coming and if thy are crap, which I have heard some of them can be from China, I'll do a paypal return :)

ASorry to harp on about this mud cake. It came out of the oven with a bit crack on the top which I wasn't worried about because every mentions a crack in the top of a mud cake. As it cooled though the crack disappeared.

I've just taken it out of the tin now and the top has gone all crumbled and broken up and the cake has just broken in half. I'm not too fussed about it breaking, probably me being too heavy handed because I'm used to the sturdiness of my other chocolate cakes, I can always patch it back together. It feels very dense though and I'm worried about the top. Also it's not very tall, I was hoping to use kit kats around the edge but I don't think it'll be anywhere near tall enough for that now. I really don't have time to rebake. ARGH! Sorry just wanted a little rant.
