AThanks tiddy. She doesn't need headphones for her music, she has it so loud we all have to put up with it! She's not so bad in the day now but scared stiff in the night when she's in bed. I'm always surprised at how many people don't like fireworks but it seems to me not many people do. Except my brother. Who's 34 going on 13. What really winds me up (apart from it going on for weeks) is shops/adults letting kids get their hands on them. They set them off out in the street here. And you can't say anything cos if they know it bothers you they'll do it even more. Or put one through your letterbox.

I love your doll cake, I made one last year and it looked like my gran's toilet roll cover! I made two actually but I don't like to talk about the one! Is it a whole doll or just the body?

How are you nanny? Excited? I'd be excited to go to CI on my birthday, a legitimate excuse to spend money! I'm so jealous!

I don't mind fireworks at displays but when people let them off at stupid o'clock I hate them, how old is your daughter? It annoys me when kids let bangers off I always jump

ABlimey, did you all wait for me to start typing before you posted?! :-)

I used a Pyrex dish for mine too chezzabelle, and 3 8 inch rounds, it was huge, looked ridiculous! My niece loved it too, she took it to school, I could cringe now looking back!

Haha Kathy! I used to have a coal fire, permanent black boog- ahem, hankies! :-D

AI think we all decided there's nothing on telly so came on here instead, it's just got busy hasn't it! :-)

We're counting down to Christmas already tiddy! When people say "oh I really love Christmas" I think they've got no idea! We still have Christmas songs in June from last year and then we start again in July for this year! Leah completely adores Christmas, it's her favourite thing in the whole, wide, world, ever!

Could you put a whole doll in there instead of a pick Tiddy?

ADid you know there's going to be a proper old fashioned bonfire at salt lake car park in porthcawl tiddy? I knew I saw it somewhere, it was on my mams FB newsfeed. There's a "best guy" competition as well. It's on porthcawl first if you want a look. x

ATiddy if you go on FB and look for the group Porthcawl First you'll see posts from Les Tallon-Morris, he created an event, called, I don't know, I can't remember what it's called but you'll find it from there!

No chezzabelle, don't think you're nosey, I on the other hand am extremely nosey! There are lots of autistic kids at Leah's school they really don't like noise either. The trouble I've got with Leah is her hearing is soooo good, noise you wouldn't even think was really noise bothers her. I know that doesn't make much sense but I'm sure you know what I mean. Her eyesight is terrible. I'd much rather it the other way around it would make life so much easier!

I'm off to bed now, I wish I could say to be up bright and early for school but she doesn't go back til Wednesday. Night all. :-)

Wow I missed a lot of charter last night.

I am right up there with Leah about Christmas, I love love love it. I count down to it all year and I can't wait to put the Xmas decorations up. People go on about how it's all just commercialised blah blah but I love everything about it, the presents, giving other people stuff, the baking, everyone getting together, playing games etc. We always host Christmas day at our house so that my parents and brother and my partners parents and sister can all be together on Christmas day and my boyfriend cooks an amazing Christmas dinner!

We are always the first to put our decs up too on 29th November. I think it comes from the fact that my grandad used to love Christmas so much, he would dress up as Santa every year and buy his 11 grandkids so many presents. Their house was always decorated like a grotto and my grandma used to bake loads. My grandad always put his tree up on 29th November which was my grandma birthday so now they're not with us anymore I like to put ours up on that day too. I'm a bit gutted I'll be 2 days late this year as we don't get back from our holiday until 1st December.

Anyway sorry bit of a waffle there about Christmas I got very excited for a minute!

Lovely cakes everyone. I didn't know you could get tins for the doll cakes tiddy I thought everyone just carved them. I must confess they freak me out a little bit, I don't know what it is, something about having a doll (or half a doll) stuck in the middle of a cake Hehe.

I really really need to get on with my Vegas cake this week now it's due for Sunday and I never start this late! Panicking now!

I've just read the email I got about the cake frame Tiddy, I was actually expecting it to be a lot more expensive than that for the the starter kit, the add ons are probably gonna cost more though.

Tiddy, how much is the cake frame? When I saw Dawn's video and she said it's reusable, I thought they wouldn't be because essentially you'd be using them for customers and there's no way I'd be asking for them back! Just too embarrassing.

Sugarluva, here I'll crack the whip for you - kpppssshhh, or whooopaaa depending on what kind of whip sound you make!!

Petitecat the starter kit is £40 but you can get it for £35 on the cake frame site at launch while CI is on then it goes back up to £40. She says on the video the add ons will be available from just £3.50 upwards. I think if you were using it for a customer you would have to take a deposit for it and they have to return the frame within so many days to get the deposit back.

AMorning all. :-)

Chezzabelle one of the few benefits to having a disabled child is I never get used to lay ins in the holidays, I'm up the same time every day, school day or not! Which is not actually a benefit but you've got to put a positive spin on things or crack up haven't you! :-)

Cake frame? Sounds interesting, and complicated!

Aw sugarluva that's a lovely reason for putting your tree up early. :-) my gran's birthday was 20th December so Christmas really started then at grandma and grandads house, that was the day we looked forward to. Blimey you've made my cry now!

Jean you seem to know what you're talking about re whip sounds! I like kpppssshhh btw.

Kpppssshhh sugarluva, get on with your cake! :-D

Lol Maisie you crack me up. The cake frame looks easy Maisie just clips together a lot easier than drilling and bolting things together like I had to do for the minion cake.

Oh I forgot to say Sugarluva that is lovely putting your tree up on that day to keep the tradition going, sounds like your all set for a lovely xmas. Whe do you leave for your hols?

Roxy - I meant to say at the time - that Minion cake was amazing!  I actually thought of that cake when I started getting the Cake Frame emails and thought - Cake Frame?  Who needs Cake Frame?  I would worry that I would never see it again.  I think she would be on to a winner if she could get the price down for a more "disposable" version though.

How is everyone today?  I have the blues - don't know why really - no real reason except it's dark everywhere and cold, wet and everyone at work is also miserable.

AHaha thanks for all for all of the whip cracking guys, I'm on it...

Aww didn't mean to make your cry maisie. I miss my grandparents around Christmas time, we used to always spend Christmas day evening with them.

I thought cake frame would actually be a lot more expensive too so I think £40 is fine. I suppose I only make for family and friends though so getting it back isn't a problem but I think for people who sell to customers, asking for a deposit for the cake frame if they want a particularly complicated cake and then giving the deposit back when they bring it back wouldn't be that embarrassing. It's the same as hiring out stands etc I suppose. Have a cheaper disposable version would be much easier though I agree.

AMorning lovely people! :)

OMG I am so tired of the rain already!!! lol

You gals 'n' guy have sure been busy making amazing cakes!! Tiddy I don't know how you do it you've had soooo many cakes lately! I've done 1 this week, a nice easy one to ease back in :) I have two tough ones to come though, I've a big wedding cake for 3 weeks time but it's 3 flavours with stencilling and lace..... I might have to see if you have any stencilling tips Suzanne?! I also randomly have a Disney castle to make for my wee cousin's 18th........ gonna be really hard..... I think the castle will be best just as a topper so she can keep it but it's gonna be so hard not to make it childish! :(

Just wanted to say hi, hope you're all well :)

Thanks Kathy, I have just asked Mr Roxy to get me cake frame for Xmas so he said to order it on friday when it's launched, will have to wait until xmas to get it off him though but can't wait. I only make cakes for friends and family so I will have no problems getting it back but I agree it would be better to come up with a disposable version.

It's sunny here but cold probably won't last long though, hope you shake your feeling blue off soon Kathy, I have days like that were you feel down for no reason.
