Sugarluva, ack! you just reminded me I still need to clean some flaming brushes grrr.

Roxy, sorry I've completely missed the bit about your daughter being unwell. I hope she's better now!

Jo, aw I'm glad your dad enjoyed the cake :)

No response from my cake guy. I will be most annoyed if they don't order, because that means they're making me paint, the fools.

Well, I just sped-watched 3 videos today so I feel I've not completely missed out on Paul's promo. It's especially great because I saw how he created a flower arrangement- I just couldn't visualise this as I'd never done it. I've actually got some sugar roses that are nearly done. They need 3 layers at least each, then I want to make leaves and perhaps another flower- maybe a peony- to complete the 'look'. Goodness knows what look this is, all I know is I want to make a pretty bunch of flowers and leaves :)

Ok I've rambled on now. Going off to clean some brushes then off to bed.

Night night folks xxx

Hi everyone,

I saw my name mentioned a few pages back by catsmum and so figured my lurking had been rumbled.

I've been reading the thread for a while now and have really enjoyed seeing all your wonderful cakes and reading your stories.

I live in Melbourne Australia but grew up in Es*** in England so it's lovely reading your messages because the language here is so different! (I hope this makes sense and I don't just sound like a crazy lady!!). Sometimes I say things and people just look blankly at me because they honestly have no idea what I mean.

I set up business from home at the beginning of the year and it's been pretty full on. I work full time in the city so have to juggle everything as best I can. I'm now taking on much bigger orders and am lucky to have a great network here, I'm looking forward to hopefully expanding in the future. Cake Central has helped me a lot since I joined, even though I rarely post and this thread has been fantastic.

So there you go, I've been rumbled!

Hello to everyone on here :-D

Lol I use to hate having to sleep with Angel when she was little she would always smack me in the face in her sleep.

he Sp just wasn't as smooth as I would have liked and I made putting the clothes on complicated don't think my brain was switched on at the time. I just have a birthday sign to put on and have to meke a few little presents to go on the board and the ribbon around then I'm done. I can't wait to show you all it I had a few problems with it last night but managed to sort it and I am really pleased with how it's looking.

Loubee are you making your own birthday cake to?

AHelloooo!!! Wow it's been a quiet week so far!

Hope everyone is ok though! Nanny hope you're ok and sleeping ok again :)

Oh Lizzy, you poor thing re your builders!! I hope they pull their socks up and get going to get everything finished, will keep everything crossed for you! Good luck for the French cake too, I can't believe they didn't give you any more notice than that!! Oh, and did we ever get to see those marvellous checked slippers..........??

Jean, yay for getting going on your painting! Hope that your last minute order isn't trouble. What is it with people thinking you can magic a perfect cake out of thin air with no notice! I had one last week wanting a two tier, loads of detail cake - contacted me Thursday for delivery Saturday! Needless to say that was a no!

Suzanne, wow that's dedication all those gym classes! I can't do the gym, would rather walk in the rain lol! I blame awful PE lessons at school for my gymphobia though, we had a hideous teacher, think Miss Trunchbull and you are close.....shudder....!

Aw Jo sorry you are having a hard time at work with your boss :/ if she's being that awful is there no one else you can bring it up with? Some people shouldn't be made Managers though, they have no clue on how to deal with people!

Speaking of, did anyone watch The Apprentice? OMG those people are on another planet rofl!!

Hi Ellie! Wow that was a big move, very brave! Loads of luck with your business, look forward to chatting with you :)

Loubee those cupcakes look lovely, am I the only one who's not tried that spread? Sounds like I should avoid it though lol!

Hope your little one feels better soon Roxy x

Sorry if I've missed anyone! (Ooh, forgot to say Hi Kathy and Lynne! How's your Mum Lynne? Kathy I'm going to try modelling choc today so I will let you know how I do!)

I've been a busy bee this week, had a 100 cookie order to deliver on Saturday, which went really well but took way longer than I thought - bagging and tagging 100 takes forever!! Then I've had my head in spreadsheets for the rest of the week, getting ready to go to my first appointment with an accountant, eeek!

AHappy birthday Roxy. Have a lovely day. Won't even try to catch up as I've been lurking, just didn't feel up to much chat! Lizzy though, you deserve a mention. If that floor has to come up I'd be tempted to put that builder underneath it! Only kidding but unprofessionalism drives me nuts! As well as not admitting mistakes and taking responsibility. O.k. Rant over. Good luck with all your cakes guys. It's time we had some new photos. I was playing with different dusts on Cake Lace at the weekend as well as the premixed, precoloured stuff in practice for the wedding cake. Should have been working on another David Austen rose after work this week as I am determined to try to get ahead with the flowers for this cake just in case other circumstances have to take my time. Thanks for asking about mam. She had a bad weekend then when I called Monday night she sounded so much better. Turning point we thought maybe, hopefully. But no - back in pain yesterday. The stress of all this for so long is getting to us - I'm not sleeping. Then sister fainted on Friday night, cracked her head on the tiled floor. I'm sure that is stress related too. Sorry to bore you with my troubles. Ellie Sunshine (fab name) you are very welcome here. All my DH's family are in Australia; Sydney area, Melbourne, Adelaide, Melbourne. We wish you well with your business.

Another ray of sunshine in our lives tonight - Supervet back on Ch4. Incredible man.

Have a good day all. Maybe if I didn't have to go to work and could just immerse myself in cake stuff I would feel better. Xx

Thanks Catsmum I have wanted to make one for ages so baked the cakes a couple of weeks ago but then with my nan having a stroke I froze them. I thought I'm gonna make it for my birthday even though I won't really eat any as I go through the trouble of making everyone else a nice cake for their birthday so should make one for mine.

Thanka Tiddy hope your little one feels better soon.

Thanks Petitecat, your doing a good job of multi tasking there lol. I have some pictures of some of the structure I will post them.

Thanks Mel, I've still not tried making modelling chocolate yet let me know how it goes.

Nanny love the cake, your jewellery looks real. I really like the way you have done the bottom to it is a beautiful cake.

AYour cake is amazing roxy,so jealous you get to even do those type of cakes. Mine, was a pita if i'm honest, I really tried to make it look her real jewellery, kept breaking on me. The bottom is just upside down as wanted a flat edge to stick pearls on.

I think the jewellery looks really real Nanny, Angel makes jewellery and it looks like a set she made me a while ago you did a lovely job on it. You will have to just do what I do Nanny and just make it for you because you want to the family will always eat it. I just try to make them smaller so I don't end up with tons of cake. I have a list a mile long of ones I want to try but don't have a lot of people to make them for so when I get the chance  I try something new.

Morning all!

Not stiff today (surprisingly) but I'm definitely on a go slow!!!!! :?

Roxy - WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!  Fan-tab-u-lous!!!  And happy, happy birthday!  Lovely pressies! <3  No, I'm shopping for an evening dress for my son's Bar Mitzvah party in December.  And a dress for the synagogue (think a bit more than your Sunday best, but not quite mother of the bride! LOLOL!!!)

Nanny - the jewellery on your cake looks SO real!  Beautifu!

Ellie - hi and welcome!  Where in Ess ex (you have to split the word up like that, or else they astrix the whole thing, LOL!)  do you hail from?

Mel - at school, I'd have amputated my own limbs if I thought it would have got me off of PE!  I was so chuffed when I had my appendix out and it meant I couldn't do PE for AGES!  We watched The Apprentice...  WHAT are they like?  <rolls eyes>  Actually, my hubby went to see tonight's episode of 'The Apprentice - You're Fired' being recorded on Sunday - so he already knows what happens in tonight's episode, as they show it to the audience first!!  He won't tell me anything though!  Well done on the cookie order...  it can take longer to bag and bow cookies than actually decorate them (depending on how they're decorated, of course!)  Good luck with the accountant!

Catsmum - so sorry to hear your mum is still unwell.  And I hope your sister is OK now?

Lizzie - my heart goes out to you re the builders.  We had problems when we had our extension built, but nothing like the issues you've got.  Makes me a little nervous, too, as we're having a loft conversion done in January!

Can I go back to bed?  Cannot function today.
