Really?? it's our first time... been to the Paris one a few times and never thought we'd ever make it to Florida but it seems a great time to go and we just can't wait! I feel like I might just bounce off the walls!!
Hopefully we'll do lots of shows and things.... I feel like I don't want to miss a thing but it looks massive... how can you ever do it all?! .......you wanna meet us there and show us round
!!!!!!!Yesssss!!!! My bags are packed! They used to call me Disneymom at the kids school! First went in 1988 when there was no Universal and only Magic Kingdom and Epcot (and had no kids then either!). We've taken the kids 8 times now and I have to say - it's been worth every penny we've saved to make it happen. We absolutely love it there. We're planning to go in 2016 but we'll have to see how the saving goes. If you want any tips or any info - I'm happy to help - just ask! What parks are you doing? And no......you can't do it all which is why you HAVE to go back! Don't forget to add tax on to everything....
Kathy
AThanks guys :) I'm just making a lovely dinner for tonight, hubby's favourite - fillet steak, so should be good :-) We are off to london on Friday for my birthday treat so we didn't want to go out too many times this week LOL!
Oooh Gray I'm sooo jealous! We went to Florida when I was about 11 - it was fab fun, really want to go back at some point! Hubby and I are big Universal fans too (done LA twice LOL) but I really want to go to the Florida one - Im a huge Harry Potter nerd!
ROFL Kathy, wow 10 times?!? I will definitely be coming to you for tips if we do ever go!!
Think my meeting went ok, hard to tell sometimes isn't it! She seemed lovely and was very nice about all my cakes, and took a loads of leaflets, so fingers crossed! She's asked me to quote for regular orders of 50 cupcakes too, as they are looking to offer an afternoon tea themed wedding package, so that would be fab if I could land that! Just need to do some maths and work out what's what!
Eeeek how is it 5pm already?! Better get on with sorting things out for dinner!!
PS Maisie totally agree, weather has been blooming awful today, dark cold and wet! Hmm..... that makes me even more jealous of Gray zipping off to tropical shores!

@Tiddylicious your post in cake circle got shared in another group. It has your website and logo on it but thought I'd let you know, got a great response actually. I tired to tag you but I don't think you are in that group.
lol everyone loves that one Siany! haha!
Ooh Mel what are you doing in London then?? My home town ;) Yep 10 times to Florida - and I love it. I did the Harry Potter ride last year - hubby and daughter's boyfriend couldn't take it..... Haha! I did Hulk twice too - first time ever as I whimped out before..... Harry Potter was amazing - I haven't read the books or even seen a film - but the theming was amazing. And then there was frozen butterbeer...... :)
Kathy
AWe are going to the Royal Albert Hall to see the Royal Philharmonic play John Williams movie scores! I can't wait, I love stuff like that, gives me goosebumps! Oh and we are having afternoon tea beforehand, naturally ;)
DH took me to the Leavesden HP studios for my birthday a couple of years ago, and that was amazing too, poor hubby didn't realise we would be there for over 3 hours though, bless him, but there was just sooooo much to look at
Oooooh butterbeer is lush isn't it lol! They should seriously market it, I'd buy it by the barrel!

I felt ill after the last ride we went on at Alton Towers. It's called the Smiler or something like that. I really thought my stomach would empty before the ride ended but fortunately nothing embarassing hapenned!!
Mel: I love the Royal Philarmonic - I saw them there years ago - beautiful. Have you booked your tea? My daughter went to Sanderson's last year for the Mad Hatter's Tea - she said it was fantastic - the photos were amazing. Tiny little details that made the difference. I on the other hand organised a (very tame) tea for a work colleague's hen do at Soho's Secret Tea Rooms - chintz and 40s music in the upstairs of a pub in Soho (The Coach and Horses) which was the pub in Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell. It was fun with 40s music playing and the waitresses dressed up like they were in an episode of Miss Marple! We headed off to the Ice Bar after that!
Oh Jean - I am not a fan of some rides - I really don't like white knuckle rides at all but there's an air of "bucket list" around me when I get to Florida - there are still some that I absolutely won't go on. I went on Gwazi in Tampa once - thought I was going to die! It was awful.
Which cake was it Tiddy?
Kathy
AOh gosh I don't come on here for a day or two and have to have a massive catch up lol All the cakes are fab, love the turntable one and the jewellery cupcakes also the cake lace looks fab I have never doing it but dunno if I would actually use it don't think my son would be too impressed with a cake covered in lace for his birthday lol lol
AHi All :-)
Not had time to be on in days ! Great cakes dine by all as usual and mine that I'm going to post seem to pale in comparison! Tiddy your turntable was great too - hope your feeling better ?
Hope everyone ok ?? Won't have to time to read back all three days but happy anniversary Mel x
These cakes were again for friends the horse one i did as a total favour ie no money for ingredients nothing ! So there's my reason for non iced board then the 1D cake my friend actually asked for a non iced board. However I can now say I'm not doing another cake without the board being iced (unless requested !) as I think it's high time I did to complete the look - hadn't really believe it till now lol.
Anyway here they are the lady who got the horse cake cried in front of me - very emotional lol.

AHi guys! I've so much to catch up on but I have been popping in and out when I have the time.
I've seen some gorgeous cakes! Wouldn't expect any less from you though, talented bunch!
I've just been reaaaaaly busy at work and it looks like it's been useful as I've pulled off a £4.2m contract
AThanks Tiddy :-)
Oh off to Rome Kelsey lucky you ! We went to Rome as part of our honeymoon many years back lol.
Look forward to see your Jake cake !
Oh that's so funny Tiddy and so, so true. I recognised everything - answers in chronological order:
1. I built one
2. I have a weekly quota now
3. Didn't know I had lost one of my kids once in a shop in Romford for over half an hour! I was so engrossed in shopping that I didn't know my son was even missing (he turned up waiting for me by the door - he was only little - how bad is that?)
4. Totally correct - went there for a packet of edible gems and spent £40
5. Just depressed......oh except for when I see Pinky's stuff ;)
6. Oooh online shopping is my drug of choice
7. .....and anything else that looks like something "real"
8. .....and my lounge, my dining room and my garage (I have shelf units that are my own in there!)
9. it's a guilty pleasure I confess....
10. ....especially those things that apples are in in supermarkets.....tiny yoghurt pots, things that I can peel labels off that have snap lids, chocolate box inners....common phrase in our house "no, you can't throw that in the bin, it's mine!"!)
11. why start believing them now after all these years....they're all wrong
12. I once put through 4 dozen eggs and two bottles of rum - nothing else - and I didn't get the look but I felt I had to say something before I did!
Ooooh Kelsey - definitely bonus! Enjoy Rome!
Kathy
ALol Kathy , lol :-)
Your stronger than me then Kelsey I can't diet for toffee !
Gray - wow it's bloody brilliant :-)
wow wow wow wow wow wow wow -- i'm just saying.... wow plus most of the other superlatives in the dictionary -- you outdid yourself, gray
[insert >> wildly clapping hands smilie face]

oh go on...you know you want to be a ninja!
Kelsey, how lovely a trip to Rome!
Kathy, I'm not a fan of the smiler I can tell you that. I don't like the ones where they shake you about! I just want to feel like I'm freefalling even though it's scary!
Jo, you've done a fab cake!
Gray, like K8 said, wowowowowowowowowowow!! I really hope you can make the circus cake before you go :)
AThanks Petitecat, I got asked to do a scooter shaped cake today and I have had to say no. Out of my league and I simply can not dedicate the time to something of that scale !

*gasp* I want to make it!
But yes you're right it's pretty complicated. I saw a motorbike cake (3D) recently and I wouldn't know where to start with the woodwork support!

Loubee - I think working with children is a definite calling. I couldn't do it. In fact, I heard a fab quote a while ago (wish I could remember where) "Kids are like farts.... you only really like your own". LOL!! :P :?
Oh Suzanne that quote made me laugh so much. Lol.
Also what a lovely message from your customer.
Mel happy anniversary, hope you enjoyed your special dinner and I hope you have a great time in London at the weekend.
Gray - have a great time in Florida, I've always wanted to go to Disney but don't fancy flying that far yet with the kids. I looked into Disneyland Paris a few years ago but the price for that for two days was more than it was for a week in Spain so opted for that instead. I'm looking forward to hearing all about what you got up to. Also love your grandads submarine cake you can just see the love and effort that went in to it.
Jo love your cakes they are really good and I'm in envy of your really smooth fondant. No matter how much I try I can never get mine anywhere near as smooth as that.
Tiddy love the cake decorating should knows I think I can relate to them all.
Kuuushi have a fab time in Rome, looking forward to hearing all about it upon your return. Also was it Eid for you on Saturday? Hope you had a good time if it was.
AOh that's lovely loubee. I'm white and Welsh and my partner is Arabian born in Sheffield. We met at the mosque 8 years ago when I was just changing my religion to shi'at Islam.
It's a big community yes, but we only tend to go at Eid and a few of the really important nights during Ramadan. Otherwise we leave them to it haha!
It's nice to see another mixed race couple, it was hard for me particularly in the beginning but over the years I've learnt to laugh at the people who look at me because I know what I have and let's be honest I live in Swansea so most of them are on the dole, claiming single parent with 12 kids in a council house so... Haha!
